"Education can instil confidence. It should awaken the divine qualities in humans to make them beneficial for society, the nation, and the world, rather than focusing on selfish matters. Bharat advocates for actions based on righteousness," said Bhagwat. Bhagwat also said although India also means Bharat, the word Bharat signified the identity of the nation. "If you lose your identity, whatever other meritorious quality you may have, you will never be respected in this world," said Bhagwat. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who presided over the public meeting, said developed India is not just an economic concept but the comprehensive development of society. "Education is a critically important sector. Although the education commissions in India proposed commendable ideas, they largely failed in effective implementation. The new National Education Policy represents a strong intervention to liberate our educational system from the shackles of colonial thought. It is a transformational mission to elevate India once again to the status of Vishwaguru by drawing from our own civilizational identity," said Arlekar. University officials, including vice-chancellors, were among those who attended the event.
