26-year-old Oxford woman dies after head-on crash in Brandon Twp.

A 26-year-old Oxford woman died Saturday night, May 24, after the car she was driving struck another vehicle head-on in Brandon Township, according to authorities. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at around 11:41 p.m. in the northbound lane of Baldwin Road near Seymour Lake Road. A 16-year-old male from Clarkston was northbound on Baldwin Road when his 2007 Hummer H3 was stuck head-on by a Chevrolet HHR driven by the Oxford woman who was traveling southbound in the northbound lane, according to the Sheriff's Office. The Hummer driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said. Suspect in custody after police chase, car crash kills woman at 9 Mile, Van Dyke in Warren

A suspect is in custody after a car crash claimed the life of an uninvolved motorist during a police chase in Warren on Saturday evening, May 24, according to authorities. The Warren Police Department said at approximately 9:33 p.m. Saturday, two police officers in a patrol car saw a black Chrysler 300 driving recklessly in the area of Van Dyke and Miller. Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver of the Chrysler failed to stop, according to police, which leading to a vehicle pursuit. The suspect traveled northbound on Van Dyke before turning southbound, police said. At the intersection of 9 Mile and Van Dyke, the Chrysler collided with two vehicles, police said. The suspect then fled on foot, but was apprehended shortly thereafter, police said. Oakland County: 26-year-old Oxford woman dies after head-on crash in Brandon Twp. The driver of one of the vehicles in the crash, a 71-year-old female, was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. The occupants of the second vehicle did not have serious injuries, police said. The Warren Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is processing the scene. The intersection of 9 Mile and Van Dyke was closed while police investigated the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
