At the end of 2023, Overstock and Bed Bath & Beyond merged to become Beyond Inc., later adding the intellectual property of Kirkland's Home to the portfolio. With the power of three brands combined, a new store with a somewhat familiar name has opened its doors. On August 8, 2025, Bed Bath & Beyond Home opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Nashville, TN, celebrating with an announcement on its Instagram, although it was met with mixed reactions from shoppers. The opening comes after The Brand House Collective, formerly Kirkland's, partnered with Beyond Inc. with the idea to transform dozens of Kirkland's old storefronts into the new retailer. Bed Bath & Beyond has officially returned to the brick-and-mortar space − and yes, it's still accepting those old coupons. The retailer opened its first Bed Bath & Beyond Home store on Friday, Aug. 8, in the Nashville, Tennessee area, marking a new chapter for the company that filed for bankruptcy and closed its stores in 2023. Beyond Inc., the parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond, entered into a partnership with Kirkland's Home in 2024 to make The Brand House Collective, the umbrella under which the new stores will operate. As part of the agreement, some Kirkland's locations will be transformed into Bed Bath & Beyond Home stores, the company announced on Aug. 5 "We're proud to reintroduce one of retail's most iconic names with the launch of Bed Bath & Beyond Home, beautifully reimagined for how families gather at home today," Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective, said in a statement about the grand opening. "This isn't just a store, it's a fresh start for a brand that means something special to so many families." Here's what we know about the retailer's relaunch. Where is the new Bed Bath & Beyond Home? The first location is in Brentwood, Tennessee. The company has plans to convert five Kirkland's stores in the Nashville market to Bed Bath & Beyond Home stores, Starr Hudgens, The Brand House Collective's chief of staff, told USA TODAY. The company plans to expand outside the Nashville market in 2026, but has not yet announced where the new stores will be located. What do Bed Bath & Beyond Home stores look like? The inaugural Bed Bath & Beyond Home features a sleek, open-concept layout with sections for home decor, pillows and rugs, bathroom, bedroom, lighting and seasonal entertaining. Staged displays of couches, chairs, beds and tables showcase a wide variety of products, from colorful throws and decorative pillows to bathroom sets, lamps, kitchen items and odds and ends like mugs and candles. Will old Bed Bath & Beyond coupons still work? As part of the grand opening, The Brand House Collective said it is "honoring our brand's history" by bringing back the "beloved Bed Bath & Beyond coupon." The company is encouraging guests to bring in their legacy Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, which the store "will gladly honor," according to a July 28 news release. The coupons will be honored, in other words, even if they have expired. The company said that the first 25 customers to make a purchase will receive The Beyond Bed, described as a premium 10-inch memory foam queen-size mattress regularly valued at $226.99. Bed Bath & Beyond was primarily selling products online Before The Brand House Collective partnered with Beyond Inc., Bed Bath & Beyond had made the switch to sell products online following Overstock's acquisition of the store's intellectual property in June 2023. 'Bed Bath & Beyond is an iconic consumer brand, well-known in the home retail marketplace. The combination of our winning asset-light business model and the high awareness and loyalty of the Bed Bath & Beyond brand will improve the customer experience and position the company for accelerated market share growth, Jonathan Johnson, CEO of Overstock, said in a statement at the time. All Bed Bath & Beyond products were not sold online after the bankruptcy, as the store entered into a separate strategic partnership with The Container Store in late 2024 to sell its goods at the specialty retailer chain. As part of the partnership, Beyond Inc. also agreed to invest $40 million in The Container Store.

Bed Bath & Beyond is back with a slightly different name and a promise to honor legacy coupons
Bed Bath & Beyond is making a comeback under a slightly different name, more than two years after filing for bankruptcy. The first Bed Bath & Beyond Home store will open in Nashville on Friday, a new version of the former big box retail store known for selling home furnishings, appliances and more, at mid-range prices. Overseeing the opening is The Brand House Collective, formerly known as Kirkland's, which manages a portfolio of retail stores including Beyond Inc.'s Bed Bath & Beyond Home, Bed Bath & Beyond, Buy Buy Baby and Overstock. "We will be testing and learning the right inventory mix by category and by brand, but the look and feel of the stores will be a transition from the original Bed Bath and Beyond stores with a tighter focus on Seasonal Home Decor, Bedroom furnishings, and Bath and Laundry products," Starr Hudgens, chief of staff at the Brand House Collective, told CBS MoneyWatch. The Brand House Collective announced the opening of the Nashville store late last month. "We're proud to reintroduce one of retail's most iconic names with the launch of Bed Bath & Beyond Home, beautifully reimagined for how families gather at home today," Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective, said at the time. To lure former customers back in the door, Brand House said it would honor legacy Bed Bath & Beyond coupons — the big white and blue paper slips that have long been associated with the company. "The coupon we all know and love is back and for those who need one, a fresh version will be waiting at the door," the company said in the announcement. Asked whether Brand House plans to open more stores under the Bed Bath & Beyond Home moniker, Hudgens said, "We are opening four additional Bed Bath and Beyond Home stores in the Nashville market and will be in an aggressive learn and react posture to determine appropriate merchandising, brand, and strategy shifts to make as we plan our opening strategy for 2026." The opening of the Nashville location marks a new chapter for the discount retailer which struggled to stay afloat amid depressed sales and the takeoff of online shopping. The company finally got into the e-commerce game after naming Mark Tritton, a former top Target executive, as CEO in 2019. But by then the company was too far behind top competitors, according to experts. The company had over 300 brick-and-mortar locations before closing all of them after it entered Chapter 11 proceedings in April 2023. Months later, it announced it would return as an online home furnishings brand under its new owner In 2024, made a bid to sell Bed Bath & Beyond products at over 100 of its Container Store locations in an effort to revive the struggling retail chain with the help of the Bed Bath & Beyond name. With the opening of the Bed Bath & Beyond Home store in Tennessee, Brand House Collective is taking a major step is resurrecting its troubled retail brands, according to John Bringardner, executive editor at Debtwire, an analytics platform that tracks companies in debt. "The company has undertaken a massive turnaround effort, closing underperforming store locations, reducing excess inventory and creating a fresh new look and marketing plan," Bringardner told CBS MoneyWatch. "But its underlying financials remain deeply troubled and the success of the relaunch will be an uphill battle." Bed Bath & Beyond opened as a privately held business in 1971 and went public in 1992. It once had thousands of stores globally, according to data from Statista.
