Meghan dispels rumours of ‘beef' in video with Gwyneth Paltrow
The Duchess of Sussex and US actress Gwyneth Paltrow have responded to reports of a feud between the two by posting a video of themselves together. The pair are seen in Paltrow's kitchen at her home in Montecito, California, where the Oscar-winning actress was conducting a Q&A session with fans on Instagram. When one fan asked if she understood the 'Meghan Markle beef' rumoured on social media, Paltrow replied: 'I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.' Asking 'do you understand this?', she turned the camera to show Meghan alongside her at the table, taking a bite of food. The duchess shrugged her shoulders, giggled and leaned back in her chairs. She shared Paltrow's post on her own Instagram page. Social media stories about the pair's relationship had surfaced after Paltrow, who founded her wellness company Goop in 2008, had posted a video of herself preparing breakfast which were similar to scenes from Meghan's Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan. She used the song used in adverts for Meghan's series, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole. The actress turned wellness guru, 52, has defended the duchess setting up a lifestyle brand, saying 'everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try'. Paltrow, who lives near where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to after giving up their royal duties, previously told Vanity Fair she did not know Meghan well, but she 'seems really lovely'. 'I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,' Paltrow said. 'I think there's always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.' Meghan has recently launched the lifestyle brand As Ever in tandem with her TV show. With Love, Meghan has been met with savage reviews from critics but proven a hit for Netflix, reaching the streaming giant's top 10 programmes globally last week. A trailer for her new podcast was released on Tuesday, with Meghan promising 'girl talk' and advice on how to create 'billion-dollar businesses'. Confessions Of A Female Founder launches next Tuesday.

Gwyneth Paltrow's morning fry-up adds sizzle to rivalry with Meghan
Gwyneth Paltrow has appeared to mock the Duchess of Sussex with a cooking video. The Hollywood actress and founder of wellness brand Goop filmed herself making breakfast in her kitchen while wearing pyjamas. Some fans are convinced the star was taking a swipe at Meghan Markle's recent Netflix cooking series, With Love, Meghan, which was panned by critics despite being renewed for a second season. Social media users said Paltrow had 'thrown shade' at the Duchess, with the casual nature of her video being in stark contrast to Meghan's polished perfection. Paltrow, 52, shared a clip of herself making scones, bacon and eggs on Instagram on Saturday, without make-up and dressed in pyjamas. Meanwhile, the Duchess's cooking series involved designer clothing and an expensive kitchen inside a hired $8 million (£6.2 million) farmhouse. Paltrow used the soundtrack of This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole, which has also been used in promos for the Duchess's own Netflix project. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one saying: 'Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade & I'm here for it! No make-up in her actual kitchen!' One fan wrote: 'Even the music... that's Natalie Cole this will be (an EVER lasting love)!' While another said: 'Isn't it this the song they keep using in the Meghan Markle promo?' 'And being as relatable as she can be, in her PJs, hair not styled, no make-up sipping coffee. No one praising her. Just her phone filming. Simple and easy,' one person wrote. The Duchess notably did not film the Netflix series at her own Montecito residence – but instead shot the episodes at a farmhouse in the same area. Another fan described it as 'top trolling' and 'authentic, better in every single way'. In the episodes of the Netflix series, Meghan used classical make-up and stylish ensembles as she gave her own advice when it came to cooking, gardening and also hosting parties. The wife of Prince Harry cooked meals adding her own twists, such as making scrambled eggs with sparkling water. When putting together meals, a bowl of limes and lemons was sometimes placed on the kitchen island where Meghan prepared dishes, which was also a feature in Paltrow's homemade reel. Others also pointed out similarities in the use of chutney and a monogram on her mug, akin to Meghan's. But while some suspected that Paltrow was mocking Meghan, others disagreed, arguing she had 'been doing these kinds of videos forever'. Earlier this week, Paltrow said she does not feel threatened by the Duchess of Sussex's 'attempt' to become a lifestyle guru. Viewers have noted the similarities between Meghan's new venture, selling products promoted in her With Love, Meghan series, and Paltrow's Goop empire. The two women are neighbours in Montecito, California, but are not friends. 'I don't know Meghan and Harry,' Paltrow said. 'I mean, I've met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don't know her at all. 'Maybe I'll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie,' Paltrow told Vanity Fair. The Oscar winner said she welcomed Meghan promoting herself as a lifestyle expert. 'I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there's always more than enough to go around. 'Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.' But Paltrow, 52, who launched Goop as a newsletter in 2008 and now runs the company as its chief executive, acknowledged that she was the forerunner. She said: 'I'm thinking it for the first time, but it might just be that my role is to pave the way. By some instinct or curiosity or desire, I go somewhere and I hack through the path and I get the scratches of hacking through, but I make space for other people then to do it.' With Love, Meghan launched earlier this month and was panned by critics for its content, which included a children's party with no child guests, and arranging fruit and vegetable platters to resemble a rainbow. Hours after its release, Meghan officially launched her As Ever brand, which offers products including jam, pancake mix, and the dried flower sprinkles which she adds to everything from shortbread biscuits to fried eggs on toast. A second series, filmed back-to-back with the first, is due to air on Netflix this autumn.
