But the brand's newest line of "Overlap" hats has been especially embarrassing for everyone involved. It's gotten to the point where MLB is pulling several Overlap hats from the team stores. Earlier this week, MLB pulled the Overlap hat for the Texas Rangers after the design happened to spell out a vulgar word in Spanish — something that was missed throughout the design and approval process. Though MLB pulled the caps, several were shipped before the league's orders came in, and fans are already selling the Rangers caps on eBay for upwards of a $1,000. Yet, the Rangers haven't been alone with the Overlap hat debacle. Via The Athletic: The Houston Astros hat, which appears to read 'Ashos,' and the Los Angeles Angels hat, which appears to read 'Anaels,' are both now gone from MLBshop. The Rangers hat that was initially removed spelled out a vulgar Spanish word. The other 27 MLB team hats from the line are still available. New Era really should have thought this entire line through.

Vulgar Rangers hat selling big on secondary market as other team hats removed from MLB online shop
Following the initial removal of a New Era Texas Rangers hat from MLB's official online store earlier in the week, two more hats from the Overlap line have also been pulled. The Houston Astros hat, which appears to read 'Ashos,' and the Los Angeles Angels hat, which appears to read 'Anaels,' are both now gone from MLBshop. The Rangers hat that was initially removed spelled out a vulgar Spanish word. The other 27 MLB team hats from the line are still available. Fanatics, which operates MLBshop in partnership with the league, also ended its eBay sales listings for those hats at 12:29 p.m. ET on Tuesday. It still has 23 of the MLB Overlap hats listed there as of Wednesday. All three caps attracted social media attention last weekend for the results of a design that overlays each team's usual hat logo in the middle of their wordmark. Now, the Rangers hat is generating big sales on the secondary market. Since Tuesday, six have sold on eBay, ranging from $200 to $1,000. MLBshop originally listed them for $44.99. One eBay seller has also listed knockoffs of the Rangers hat for $36, with 123 sold as of midday Wednesday. Some of the sold listings for the original Rangers Overlap hat showed screenshots of MLBshop package tracking, which appeared to indicate that some of the hats purchased before they were removed have been shipped out. New Era released a line of 'Overlap' hats for all 30 MLB teams with each franchise's logo superimposed over its wordmark, but on Monday, only 29 were still available on the league's official online shop. The Texas Rangers' Overlap hat went viral over the weekend when fans spotted the Spanish word the design accidentally created and the link to the hat's product page now redirects to the Rangers shop homepage. The Houston Astros hat reads 'Ashos.' The Los Angeles Angels hat reads 'Anaels.' And the Arizona Diamondbacks hat is perfect for Arizona-based Ariana Grande fans. This is the second time in as many years that New Era has produced a stylized MLB hat with unfortunate results. Last year, the company made an Athletics hat that appeared to read as 'A'ss.'
