Insiders Are Revealing the Truth Behind This Major Misconception About Taylor Swift's Directorial Debut
Ever since 2024, Taylor Swift's directorial debut has been the talk of the town. When is it coming out? Who is attached? What is it about? Is she ready to find a place to make it? What the heck is happening? Don't worry, we asked these things, too. While it's all still shrouded in mystery, we now know one thing: and it's about dispelling a common rumor about the upcoming project.
So, we know that the picture will be with Searchlight Pictures; that's a fact. But a major rumor started that screenwriter Alice Birch had been brought onto the project.

Birch is known as the screenwriter for projects like Anatomy of a Suicide, The Wonder, Succession, and Normal People, to name a few. However, despite the beloved screenwriter being reportedly attached, it's not true.
A source close to production told E! Online that the only writer attached is Swift herself.
Now, we've heard news of a potential Swift-written and directed motion picture for a year now, with many alleging that it could be a Disney film she's writing and directing, while insiders also claim that both Reese Witherspoon and Blake Lively have been itching to produce it.
So far, no producer, A-list or otherwise, has been attached to the project. However, the Disney report has some merit.
Searchlight Pictures is owned by Walt Disney Studios, which worked darn hard to get the exclusive streaming rights to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) on their streaming platform Disney+. So, this makes sense that Swift could be making a Disney movie of some kind.
But only time will tell!Best of SheKnows
