Protests calling for the creation of the state were going on at the time. To ensure the resolution of the matter, the Union Government formed a committee with a number of ministers. The Union Government agreed to the call for the establishment of the new state after the group prepared a report. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill was subsequently approved by the Parliament in 2014. Traffic rules around Parade Grounds till 1 pm • Citizens are advised to keep away from routes between Panjagutta - Greenlands - Begumpet and Secunderabad, and roads surrounding Parade Grounds. On June 2, 2014, Telangana was formed out of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, following the approval of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in the Parliament in 2014. After extensive discussion on the specifics of the state boundary and the choice of capital (for the new Andhra State), Hyderabad was chosen as the joint capital of both Andhra and Telangana for ten years, after which Andhra would have to shift its capital. The Telangana Formation Day is an occasion to pay tribute to the hardships faced by the people of Telangana while celebrating their victory in carving a separate identity apart from Andhra Pradesh. It also serves as a reminder of the resilience of its people in their pursuit to have a separate state for over half a century of struggle and sacrifice. In 2025, the state will celebrate its 11th anniversary on Monday, June 2.
