2 HGTV 'Bargain Block' homes hit the market in Detroit
Two Detroit homes featured on HGTV's 'Bargain Block' are for sale, and fans may recognize the creative flair and bold design that transformed them from abandoned structures into fully furnished, income-generating properties.
Located side-by-side on Santa Rosa Drive, the homes listed at $144,900 each, were renovated in 2023 and are currently operating as Airbnb rentals.
According to listing agent Andre Abney of Match Realty in Detroit, the properties generated more than $44,000 in combined gross rental revenue over the past year.
'They're rare finds — fully furnished, professionally designed, and already producing rental income,' Abney said. 'Whether you're a first-time buyer looking for a stylish home or an investor seeking a revenue-ready property, these are exceptional opportunities.'
Each home was given a distinct custom-designed interior, staying true to the creative aesthetic of the "Bargain Block" team, designer-builder duo Evan Thomas and Keith Bynum, along with Detroit-based real estate agent Shea Hicks-Whitfield, known for reimagining neglected Detroit properties.
Homes featured on the show are sold fully furnished, offering instant appeal for homeowners and investors alike.
The trio's work has been showcased as part of their mission to help rebuild the city "one block at a time."

Here's a look at each home:
Built in 1938, this 895-square-foot brick bungalow offers two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a basement. It's designed to feel like a calming retreat with neutral decor, bamboo and hardwood flooring, updated appliances, and a bathroom accented with classic penny tile. The atmosphere is intentionally serene, designed to feel like a peaceful retreat.
Next door, the 910-square-foot home built in 1941 leans into bold vintage charm. It features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a basement, with interior touches that channel the 1970s: rich browns and golds, shag textures, and hand-painted wall details. The design merges retro flair with modern sensibility. As seen on the show, this home's transformation was described as going 'from drab to fab.'
This season, "Bargain Block" has shifted its renovation focus from Detroit to New Orleans with the launch of its spin-off, "Bargain Block New Orleans."
The Santa Rosa homes serve as a reminder of the show's Motor City roots — and of Detroit's ongoing story of reinvention.
'These homes are a testament to Detroit's creativity and resilience,' Abney said.
