Formula E packs 18 races into record 2025-26 calendar
Formula E has announced its biggest calendar yet as 18 rounds will make up the 2025-26 campaign with Brazil hosting the opener.
The all-electric championship will visit Sao Paulo on 6 December with the season once again concluding at the ExCeL Arena in London on 15-16 August after a contract extension was agreed.

Formula E is still waiting on two 'TBC' rounds for next season's calendar though, which was approved by the FIA's World Motorsport Council in Macau on Tuesday. It comes after several racing calendars were revealed, including Formula 1's for 2026.
After Sao Paulo, Formula E will return to Mexico City and the popular Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on 10 January, followed by Miami.
The US race has a new home, dropping the Homestead Speedway after one event, and will now be held at the Miami International Autodrome for round three on 31 January - which is understood to be the start of a multi-year contract.
Formula E is familiar with the circuit, hosting the Evo Sessions there earlier in 2025 – an influencer event aimed at raising awareness of the championship during an eight week break in the calendar.

The series' co-founder and chief championship officer Alberto Longo also hinted that Evo Sessions would return for the 2025-26 campaign, running parallel to the Miami race weekend.
Formula E will also be back at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia for rounds four and five across 13 and 14 February.
Jarama, Madrid, is a new addition to the calendar, having stepped in to host pre-season testing last year when devastating flooding hit the Valencia region of Spain.
Drivers had positive feedback about the venue, which hosted F1 on nine occasions from the late '60s to early '80s.
Madrid will kickstart the European leg of the calendar, with Jarama a single-header on 21 March and is followed by two double-headers in Berlin and Monaco.

The yet to be confirmed rounds follow, which are expected to be finalised at a forthcoming FIA World Motor Sport Council Meeting later this year.

Jakarta in Indonesia, is notably absent and may fill one of the slots, with Sanya also being heavily speculated to make it two Chinese locations in a single season for Formula E – one of its key markets.
Shanghai is back on 4-5 July, followed by Tokyo on 25-26 July, which is the latest slot it has had since debuting in 2024. The Japanese event has been hugely successful, especially with the dominance shown by Nissan and Oliver Rowland this season, with there being talks it could become a night race in due course.

Finally, London concludes the racing season with a double-header across 15-16 August around the unique half-indoor and half-outdoor ExCeL circuit.
However, with Gen4 on the horizon for the 2026-27 season, this could be the last time the championship races at the temporary track as car speeds and power continues to increase.
