Midlands murder probe launched after man's body found in disused building
A murder probe has been launched after a man's body was discovered in a disused building. The victim was discovered in a building close to Shelton Water Tower at around 11.50am yesterday (June 27). West Mercia Police said yesterday that it had arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he remained in custody. Patrols have been stepped up in the area in the wake of incident. Anyone with information has been urged to call police. A spokesperson for the force said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Shrewsbury. "Police were called to disused building close to Shelton Water Tower at around 11.50am today (27 June). "A man was found deceased at the location. "A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody as enquiries are ongoing." Inspector Gordon Kaye added: "We are at the very early stages of our investigation, but we do believe the victim and the suspect are known to each other. "Our communities can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as we carry out our enquiries. "We would urge anyone with information to call DS Andrew Dawson on 07811 753375."
