'Why is the rest of the world condemning Israel but not some media?'
Worse, anyone who says any different is accused of supporting terrorism, even though the same atrocities are happening in Ukraine at the hands of the Russian invaders. Most people who speak up don't support Hamas, but the innocent lives lost to Israeli bombs and bullets. So why is the rest of the world condemning Israel but not some parts of the media? Letter: Reform UK are part of the establishment
Letter: Reform UK are part of the establishment (Image: PA/Jacob King) This article is brought to you by our exclusive subscriber partnership with our sister title USA Today, and has been written by our American colleagues. It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. A few weeks ago, I wrote a letter that voters should judge a party by its voting action once elected and not by their promises. Take Reform UK. These former Tory posh public school boys voted against banning fire and rehire, improving access to sick pay, banning exploitative zero-hour contracts, improving paternity leave, and allowing bereavement leave. Their voting record has been on the same lines as the Tory party. Now voters can judge their local Reform councillors and the new mayors. They are now part of the establishment and not shouting from the sidelines. So voters can judge them in future elections. Andrew Nutt Bargoed

Letters: North Sea oil and shale gas will not lower prices
North Sea oil production does not guarantee cheaper fuel for UK consumers. While it provides some domestic supply, the oil and gas extracted are sold on the international market, where prices are determined by global supply and demand, not the specific amount produced in the North Sea. Therefore, increasing North Sea production will not directly translate to lower fuel prices for UK consumers. Shale gas production in the UK is unlikely to significantly lower gas or electricity prices for consumers. The UK's gas market is interconnected with international markets, making it difficult for domestic shale gas to influence prices. Furthermore, the amount of shale gas that could be extracted is not sufficient to have a major impact on the overall gas supply. So, shale gas policy from Reform UK is a great energy policy is a pipe dream and con based on headline-grabbing lies or not doing their homework. A bit like their policy on dragging the boat people back into French waters, but what they haven't thought about these people will only turn away from France and head back to the UK. Or they will travel at night, and those who survive would be lost in night-time England, unvetted and unmonitored. Andrew Nutt Bargoed
