Oasis fans flock to Murrayfield from across the globe ahead of epic Edinburgh shows

Oasis superfans have travelled thousands of miles across the globe for the epic return of the Gallaghers to Scotland. The Manchester music icons take to the Murrayfield Stadium stage tonight (Friday) for the first of a three-night run of shows. Fans have flown in from far-flung places including USA, Italy, Spain, South Korea and Germany, as well as from across the UK, to see the brother's first gig in Edinburgh for the first time since 2009. Hailing from New York couple Andrew Wadhams, 39, and Alicia Diaz, 41, said they had to spend about £10k in tickets, hotel accommodation and flights. Andrew said to be a "dream" to final see the Britpop legends live as he has been a fan since 1995. He added: "As soon as they announced they were coming back, I knew there was no way I was going to miss it. I had to get up at two in the morning to get tickets. "Tickets were about £400, the hotel was £2000, flights were around £1500. We're going to make a week of it, so after this we're going to London for the first time. Altogether it's cost around £10,000. "I've loved Oasis since the fifth grade, in about 1995. I spent so many nights at home watching all their videos. To see Oasis in the UK has been a dream of mine. "I was able to see them on their last US tour, but that was when Liam's voice was just not that great, so the fact that they're back now is amazing." Dad Josep Bayarri, 64, son Gon al Bayarri, 29, and daughter Ll cia Bayarri 22, travelled from Valencia, Spain to watch Oasis' first gig in Edinburgh for the first time since 2009. The family paid around one thousand euros for the flights and accommodation and roughly £1,000 for three tickets. The superfans said they will be flying back home at 8am tomorrow and spend a night in the airport. But Gon al said "every penny is worth it" to see brother's playing live. The 29-year old added: "We are big fans of Oasis since we were young. My father was very big fan when he was younger in the 90s. "When we where told they were going to come back we queued on Ticketmaster and we thought that Edinburgh was the best concert so we came here. "We flew yesterday in the morning to Edinburgh from Barcelona airport." While their dad is queuing for the stadium doors to open, Gon al and his sister are on the merchandising queue. He said that so far they spent around 800 euros in merch, from t-shirts, to bucket hats and posters. Gon al is hopeful Oasis will be touring in Spain next year. "If they come to Madrid we will try and get tickets." Yesterday we reported fans were already arriving to the Murrayfield site to snap up merchandise. Some have spent up to £300 pounds on merch in order to grab a bit of 90s nostalgia - and keep a memory of the historic music event. Flo Abicht travelled all the way from Germany to watch the concert and spent around £200 on Oasis memorabilia. Hailing from South Korea, Songeun Yoo, Seunghyun Chun, Jeongin Choi have spent £3k between them.
