'How lucky I was to share in a little of Ozzy's magic?' Producer Andrew Watt pays tribute to his friend

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's been just three weeks since Ozzy Osbourne's sudden passing and his friends and colleagues are still coming to terms with their loss. The latest to make a public statement is Andrew Watt. The esteemed producer, who worked on Ozzy's final pair of solo albums – 2020's Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9 from 2022 - has shared his thoughts about the man via a post on Instagram. 'Still processing saying goodbye to @ozzyosbourne,' he wrote, alongside a number of personal videos and photos of his friend. 'Someone said 'Grief is the price of Love.' I say that to myself everyday but at the end of the day I just miss my friend so much. There is a new hole in my heart, something I will learn to live with… The music is obvious… how lucky I was to share in a little of Ozzy's magic, but the friendship was the greatest gift of all… I will miss laughing with you forever Boss… Do you want a kick in the balls?' Ordinary Man was Watt's first full production credit on an album, after which he went on to on work with some of music's biggest names, including the Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and Paul McCartney. He clearly made a lasting connection with the Black Sabbath singer. 'Ozzy and I have a connection that's unlike anything else I've ever experienced,' he told Guitar World just a couple of months ago. 'We made some music together that we really love, and we'll continue making music together forever. More importantly than that, we talk every day and we're really close friends.' And yes, Watt also made an appearance at the Back To The Beginning gig at Villa Park back in early July, just like pretty much everyone who is anyone in the rock/metal world. Lady Gaga's ‘Wednesday' Role Will Also Include a Spooky New Song for Season 2

Lady Gaga's involvement in Wednesday season 2 extends beyond acting to a brand-new song, Billboard can confirm. Gaga is expected to release a new song titled 'Dead Dance' next month, timed to her guest role on the new season, Variety was the first to report. The outlet also reported that Andrew Watt and Cirkut — who worked with Gaga on her most recent album Mayhem — are behind the new song. More from Billboard Lady Gaga's 'Wednesday' Character Confirmed, First Six Minutes of Season Two Released Australian Rockers The Angels Honored With Laneway & Mural in Hometown Metro Boomin Blames Social Media for Music Not Being Regional Anymore: 'Let's Get Back to Actual Culture' Billboard has reached out to reps for Lady Gaga and Netflix for more details. Back in May, Netflix confirmed that Gaga would appear in season 2 of Wednesday, the hit series starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, playing 'the mysterious and enigmatic Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.' The streaming service announced the news of Gaga as guest star at its Tudum fan event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on May 31. Gaga also took the stage at the event for a Wednesday-themed set that had her emerging from a coffin with a lid that read 'HERE LIES THE MONSTER QUEEN.' She performed the on-theme Mayhem tracks 'Zombieboy' and 'Abracadabra' before returning to her coffin, and the middle of her mini-set included a dance performance to The Cramps' 'Goo Goo Muck,' inspired by the viral dance scene from Wednesday's first season. Back in 2022, fans inspired by the Wednesday scene uploaded videos of themselves performing the dance to TikTok and other platforms, but many Little Monsters swapped out the audio of 'Goo Goo Muck' with a sped-up version of Gaga's 'Bloody Mary' — including the pop star herself after she caught onto the trend. Gaga's association to the show now continues with the season 2 acting role and new song. According to Variety, a music video will also be released for the song in September as well. Last month, it was reported that Gaga was spotted with Wednesday director Tim Burton on the Island of the Dolls, south of Mexico City, but there's no word whether that is related to the new song or video. The first Wednesday season 2 episodes arrive (naturally) on Wednesday to Netflix. A second batch is due Sept. 3, which will seemingly include Gaga's appearance on the show. EXCLUSIVE How Ozzy Osbourne was 'haunted' by his father's death… but ultimately suffered an eerily similar fate

Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne has died 'surrounded by love' at the age of 76, a statement from his family revealed on Tuesday. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away following a string of health concerns, including recovery from substance abuse, multiple spinal operations, and a years-long battle with Parkinson's disease. Despite his ailing health in recent years, the musician never shied away from his fans. Most recently, Osbourne reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for a farewell concert at Villa Park Stadium, less than three weeks before his passing. But according to an inside source, who's known the rock icon for several decades, the farewell concert was merely Osbourne's goodbye to performing on-stage. In fact, he was planning on releasing a new album for later in the year and hoping to reunite with his frequent collaborator, award-winning music producer Andrew Watt. 'Ozzy saw Villa Park as the farewell on his live shows, not his career,' the source exclusively told the Daily Mail. 'With the memoir, album, and TV shows, there was a lot more for him to focus on this year alone. Ozzy was always like, 'This is not the f***ing end…I have got stuff to do.' His memoir, titled Last Rites, is expected to hit shelves in October this year. The autobiography will chronicle his life and career, including his marriage to devoted wife Sharon Osbourne, as well as his recent health struggles. Osbourne had also been filming a feature-length documentary for Paramount Plus, called Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, and his family had been slated to star in a new BBC reality show called Home To Roost. The close pal admitted that Osbourne was 'looking forward to promoting' his memoir later this year, and found the whole process to be 'quite therapeutic and fun.' 'He was a born entertainer and he overcame so much in his final years alive with his neck, back and leg pains – as well as the Parkinson's – to be his best on TV, radio and stage,' they said. At the age of 76, Osbourne's fear of retiring into obscurity was what kept him in the spotlight for so many decades, even during years of scandal and drug abuse. According to the close pal, the Crazy Train singer was 'haunted' by the death of his father, John Thomas 'Jack' Osbourne, who had passed away in 1977 shortly after his own retirement. Osbourne grew up in a working-class family in Aston, an area in Birmingham, England, along with his five siblings. His mother, Lilian, worked at a Lucas automotive factory assembling car components, while his dad worked night shifts as a toolmaker at the General Electric Company. The insider revealed that John had 'dedicated his life' to working nights at the General Electric Company, so much so that when he had finally retired, Osbourne's father 'dropped dead' just a few days later. 'All his dad told the family was about doing some gardening,' they recalled. 'He went out and dug up the garden for a few days and then dropped dead, just like that. 'Ozzy felt that as hard as his workload was, John kind of had that purpose of going to work to provide for his family and have a role. And when it was absent, it kind of left him lost.' In an interview with Record Mirror in 1978, while promoting the Black Sabbath album Never Say Die, Osbourne shared that the third track of the record, called Junior's Eyes, was a tribute to his father. The musician strangely saw his father's death as a sign to keep making music and feeling the support from his fans, who the source described as his 'super power'. 'Ozzy hated the thought of just withering away and stopping altogether,' they added. The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Osbourne for comment. Osbourne's family announced his death in a statement shared on Tuesday. 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' the statement read. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' The rocker was joined by his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time since 2005, as he bid an emotional farewell to his fans during his last show ever. 'You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart,' Osbourne told the crowd in his final speech. The singer, who sold more than 100 million records, formed Black Sabbath in Birmingham in 1968. With hits that included Iron Man, War Pigs and Paranoid, Black Sabbath's pushing of occult themes proved both hugely popular and controversial, with a future pope even condemning Osbourne for his 'subliminal satanic influence'. Osbourne's most infamous moment came when he bit the head off a bat that had been thrown on stage during a solo performance. He later claimed he thought it was made of rubber. After being thrown out of the band in 1979 due to his drug-fueled antics, Osbourne forged a hugely successful solo career, with hits that included Crazy Train and Hellraiser. But his hellraising off stage continued. In 1989 he attempted to kill Sharon while high on drugs, and seven years before that he urinated on the treasured Alamo Cenotaph in Texas, an act that saw him banned from San Antonio for a decade. He was also injured in a quad bike crash at his UK home in 2003, an episode that had a serious impact on his fragile health. Yet there was also redemption for the troubled singer, who relaunched himself as a reality tv star in The Osbournes in the early 2000s, after getting clean from alcohol and drugs with the help of Sharon. There was a return too to Black Sabbath in 1997, when the original line-up reunited. Tributes have been pouring in for the superstar following his family's announcement of his death. Fellow musicians Sir Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Gene Simmons have all shared social media tributes for the star, as well as John Lennon's son Sean Ono Lennon and American rapper Ice-T.

KATESEYE Release New EP ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS': Stream It Now

KATSEYE are ready to pull fans into their latest sonic universe. The six-member girl group unveiled their highly anticipated second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, on Friday (June 28), marking a bold evolution from the dreamy, melodic pop of their debut. More from Billboard Adrian Quesada's Psychedelic Journey: How the Black Pumas Co-Founder Delved Into Latin America's Romantic Past LL Cool J Gives Fans an NYC Rap History Crash Course in 'Hip Hop Was Born Here' Trailer Teddy Swims Welcomes His First Child With Girlfriend Raiche Wright: 'We Love You Lil Man' Released via HYBE x Geffen Records, the project follows the viral success of lead single 'Gnarly,' which hinted at the high-energy hyperpop and dance-infused direction that now defines the full EP. The project arrives less than a year after the release of SIS (Soft Is Strong), which catapulted KATSEYE to No. 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart and spawned fan favorites like 'Touch' and 'Debut.' But BEAUTIFUL CHAOS is anything but a repeat—this is a new era, louder and more unapologetic. In a joint statement ahead of the release, the group wrote: 'We are so excited to invite you into this beautiful and chaotic world that we have built. Thank you for being here.' The EP showcases the group's global identity—with members from six different countries—and their ambition to break molds within the pop landscape. With producers like Justin Tranter, Andrew Watt, and John Ryan in the mix, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS balances shimmering production with emotional grit, offering an eclectic yet cohesive soundscape. Rather than focusing on chart positions, KATSEYE are aiming for something more lasting. 'We want KATSEYE to be timeless and to have lasting influence. Not just for now—we want forever,' the group said. Listen to BEAUTIFUL CHAOS below. Furthermore, if all 2025 invitees accept membership, the academy will consist of 35% women, 22% individuals from underrepresented communities and 21% individuals from outside the U.S. The academy notes that demographic information is provided by the candidate when possible or projected through publicly available research and will be confirmed by members upon acceptance. It also pointedly notes: 'The academy's membership process is conducted by sponsorship, not application. …Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the academy's membership in 2025.' It adds: 'Membership selection is based on professional qualifications, with an ongoing commitment to representation, inclusion and equity remaining a priority.' Candidates must be sponsored by two academy members from the branch or category to which the candidate seeks admission. Academy Award nominees are automatically considered for membership in the year in which they are nominated and do not require sponsors. Branch executive committees review candidates, and recommendations for membership are considered and approved by the academy's board of governors. Twelve individuals were invited to join the academy by multiple branches. These individuals must select one branch upon accepting membership. Grande, whose film credits include Wicked and Don't Look Up, was invited to join the actor's branch. She was nominated for an Oscar in January for best supporting actress for Wicked. Clément Ducol and Camille, who won an Oscar for best original song on March 2 for co-writing 'El Mal' from Emilia Pérez, and Daniel Blumberg, who won an Oscar for best original score for The Brutalist, were invited to join the music branch, as were such other current or past Oscar nominees as Carlile and Watt, who were nominated for co-writing 'Never Too Late' for the documentary Elton John: Never Too Late; Abraham Alexander and Adrian Quesada, who were nominated for co-writing 'Like a Bird' from Sing Sing; and Linda Thompson, who was nominated for co-writing 'I Have Nothing' from the 1992 film The Bodyguard. In addition, two past nominees for best sound, Jack Dolman (Wicked) and Maxence Dussère (Emilia Pérez), were invited to join the music branch. O'Brien, who is set to host the Oscars on March 15, 2026, and four-time past host Kimmel were among those invited to join the academy as associate members. Associate membership is extended by invitation only through the membership committee and the board of governors to recognize service to the academy and commitment to the film industry. Associates are not eligible to vote for the Oscars or serve on academy governance committees. Others who were offered associate memberships include Kapoor, who currently serves as an executive producer of both the Oscars and the Grammys; Eric Esrailian, Ray Halbritter, Molly McNearney, Katy Mullan, Dominic Ng and Rob Paine.
