X Factor star looks completely different after body transformation as he shows off new look at 69
X FACTOR legend Wagner has showcased a brand new look aged 69. The retired PE teacher from Brazil, 69, starred on the ITV reality series when the show entered its seventh instalment in 2010. 5 5 5 It was the same season that saw contestants such as Cher Lloyd, One Direction and Rebecca Ferguson compete for the winner's title and, at the time, he sported shoulder-length locks and a striking black moustache. Wagner, who was notoriously known as the oldest finalist, was eliminated in the quarter final but not before he showed off his striking look complete with beard and open-button shirts. Back in 2022, we reported how Wagner had re-located overseas so he could "die in peace." And three years on, after his return to the UK, he has changed up his striking appearance. In a video interview for FUBAR Radio, he showcased his platinum blonde locks, still at their shoulder length, and in their natural waves. While he's kept his moustache, it's now a natural silver shade and paired with a bushy beard. Yet fans were left particularly distracted by his ripped physique, with Wagner giving a bicep curl to the camera for good measure. His muscle definition could clearly be seen on his tattooed arms as he posed in a bright yellow vest. Wagner was chatting to FUBAR host Andrew White and told how he had returned to the UK in December. Yet he admitted he "couldn't stand" living in Brazil so sold his hair transplant clinic back to the Da Vinci business. The X Factor's Wagner offers his singing services with personalised video message service Stardm Back in 2022, we told how Wagner was leaving his Birmingham home and coming out of retirement to start up the business. At the time, he said: "I love it here but I am going to Brazil to start a hair transplant business. "I'm living proof that hair transplants work. I had mine eight years ago and I haven't lost anything. I lose more from the beard than my head. "I'm going to be making so much money I'll be coming back to the UK. I'm only a flight away." Speaking about his wife, who is 36 years his junior, he then added to The Mirror: "Once I die, (his wife) Lydia will communicate with the manager and I can die in peace now." Wagner has also been selling custom videos to fans for just £10 - as he doesn't want to price anybody out. 5 5

Ireland suffer double blow as Campher and Young ruled out of West Indies ODI series
Ireland have been forced into making two late changes to the squad to play West Indies in three One-Day Internationals at Castle Clontarf after all-rounder Curtis Campher and seam bowler Craig Young both pulled out through injury. Campher suffered a broken finger in nets on Monday ahead of Wednesday's opening game, while Young picked up a hamstring injury while playing for North West Warriors in a recent interprovincial match against the Leinster Lightning in Oak Hill. Batter Stephen Doheny and uncapped teenager all-rounder Jordan Neill have been added to the squad, which has been hit by a number of withdrawals, with the seam attack considerably weakened. 'It's not ideal when you lose a player to injury just prior to a series, but unfortunately, both Young and Campher join a bit of a lengthy list on the rehabilitation table. Most pertinently, our seam attack is heavily impacted with Mark Adair, Graham Hume, Craig Young, Fionn Hand and Curtis Campher all out,' said national men's selector Andrew White. READ MORE 'This series will be a real test of our depth, and instead of bemoaning what we won't have, my view is that these absences provide a real opportunity for some of our up-and-coming talent to play at home against a world-class opposition.' The first of the three games gets under way at 10.45am on Wednesday morning, with further games on Friday and Sunday. The games will be shown live on TNT Sports in Ireland.

CHAR Tech, Synagro and the Baltimore City Department of Public Works Partner to Test Commercial-Scale Pyrolysis Pilot for PFAS Destruction
CHAR Technologies Ltd. Synagro and Partners to Test Commercial-Scale High Temperature Pyrolysis Pilot for PFAS Destruction, Syngas Recovery and Biochar Production TORONTO, May 07, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CHAR Technologies Ltd. ('CHAR Tech' or the 'Company') (TSXV:YES), a leader in sustainable energy solutions, is pleased present its first United States based high temperature pyrolysis (HTP) demonstration for PFAS destruction, in partnership with Synagro Technologies, Inc., North America's leading provider of sustainable solutions for biosolids, organics and residuals, and the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW). The demonstration will be held May 9th, 2025, at the Synagro Back River Facility at the Baltimore City Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of the Water Environment Federation's Residuals & Biosolids and Innovations in Treatment Technology Conference (RB/ITT25) being held at the Baltimore Convention Center May 6-9, 2025. Following the initial May 9th demonstration, between May 2025 and December 2025, Synagro and CHAR Tech will measure, test and evaluate the effectiveness of the HTP process to destroy PFAS chemicals from biosolids. For more information regarding the announcement please visit the Synagro Newsroom. 'We are excited to feature a demonstration of our commercial-scale pilot of Char Tech's pyrolysis process, leading the industry toward sustainable solutions by proactively addressing customers' future needs,' said Pam Racey, Chief Commercial Officer, Synagro, and RB/ITT25 Conference Co-Chair. CHAR Tech's proprietary high-temperature pyrolysis (HTP) technology processes organic material into high-value renewable energy and bioproducts, such as a solid biochar and renewable synthetic gas – syngas. CHAR Tech's HTP system indirectly heats materials in the complete absence of oxygen, and with no oxygen, the material cannot burn and, therefore, should not cause odors. 'This project represents a major step forward in tackling one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time,' said Andrew White, Chief Executive Officer, CHAR Tech. 'DPW is proud to participate in this groundbreaking demonstration, which reflects our commitment to environmental leadership and forward-thinking innovation,' said Director Khalil Zaied of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works. 'By supporting cutting-edge technologies that address PFAS and turn waste into usable resources, we're taking meaningful steps to protect our environment – both for today's residents and for future generations of Baltimoreans.'

Historic railways named best attraction in Wales as £5m revamp is completed
Hugely popular and historic railways in North Wales have been honoured by tourism bosses. The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways (FFWHR) have recently been awarded for "Best Attraction" in Wales for 2025 by Visit Wales. The Railway is also celebrating the completion of a £5m project thanks to funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Building on the inscription of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales World Heritage Site, of which the railway is part, the Heritage Fund project set out to refresh this anchor attraction in North Wales, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this summer. Join the North Wales Live Whatsapp community now The project included major works to revive the historic buildings at the railways works at Boston Lodge. These are the oldest railway works in the world still fulfilling their original function and have built locomotives in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. A multi-faceted project, the Heritage Fund support enabled the railway to completely refresh the way it is interpreted for the 200,000 visitors that come in to contact with the railway each year. Skills training featured strongly in the program, for current employees, volunteers and the local community. An outreach program has given the opportunity for work experience to over 200 young people and more than 250 young people have been engaged with a schools' programme. Nearly 600 individual volunteers have contributed their time to the project, amassing almost 40k hours and more than 100 of those volunteers are new to the railway. Overall volunteer contribution over the whole of the FFWHR is more than 90k hours per year. Building work with a value of £3.3m has been led by local contractors using local subcontractors. Specialists from elsewhere were only brought in when local contractors were not available. Celebrations took place on May 1 when the completion of the project was marked by a visit from the Heritage Fund team and leaders from the heritage and tourism industries. Andrew White, Director of The National Lottery Heritage Fund in Wales said: 'We are delighted to celebrate the completion of this project with the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways that has centered on the Boston Lodge Works. Thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, over £3.7 million has helped to restore and revitalise Boston Lodge, creating opportunities for more people to volunteer, learn new skills, and understand how this industry has shaped the landscape and community over 200 years." He added: "We know that heritage can play a huge role in bringing people together and creating a sense of pride in people's hometowns and cities, and in turn boosting the local economy. The realisation of this ambitious project is a huge achievement and means this truly world-class heritage attraction will be enjoyed by visitors and its local community for many years to come.' Paul Lewin, Director and General Manager of Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, said: 'After 70 consistent years as a leading attraction and caring for a large collection of rolling stock, buildings and infrastructure of national historic importance, the railway really needed help to refresh the offer to visitors and to make the original workshops at Boston Lodge fit for the next seventy years. "The National Lottery Heritage Fund listened carefully to the complex needs of our organisation and worked with us to develop a plan that has brought significant benefits for visitors, staff and the local community.' For those who wish to find out more, a new visitor experience in the shape of a behind the scenes, guided tour of Boston Lodge is now available. The three-hour tour, with its professionally trained hosts, brings visitors in to contact with the railway, its history and operations in a new way.
