Bombs seized in Panoor
Kannur: Police on Tuesday discovered two steel bombs on a private property at Muliyathode, Panoor in Kannur. The location is the same site where a fatal bomb blast occurred last year, resulting in one death and one serious injury during to police, landowner Aneesh U P found the crude explosives near a coconut tree while working with labourers.
He promptly alerted authorities, leading to immediate response from Panoor police station, including bomb and dog squads, who successfully defused the conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area and launched a probe to determine the explosives' DCC president Martin George alleged that a CPM-backed criminal gang is behind manufacturing bombs in Panoor and criticized police for inadequate action. He claimed the gang aims to disrupt peace in Kannur district and called for strict measures against those involved in bomb-making activities. TNN
