Ahmedhodzic's bargain Feyenoord transfer fee revealed
Feyenoord are reportedly paying just under €7 million for summer signing Anel Ahmedhodzic, according to Voetbal International. The 26-year-old defender was quickly acquired from Sheffield United on Tuesday. Ahmedhodzic has signed a four-year contract in Rotterdam and could make his debut for Feyenoord on Wednesday as the Rotterdam side face Fenerbahçe in the preliminary round of the Champions League. As VoetbalPrimeur explain, Feyenoord are doing everything they can to get the Bosnian eligible to play in the two-legged tie against José Mourinho's team. 'The club are receiving assistance from the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) in this regard.' Feyenoord bought out Ahmedhodzic's one-year contract with Sheffield United for a transfer fee of approximately €6.9 million, VI reports. 'There is also a bonus and resale structure.' Immediately, on first viewing, this seems like a good deal, as Transfermarkt estimates Ahmedhodzic's value to be considerably higher, at 18 million euros. Ahmedhodzic had been under contract with Sheffield United since the summer of 2022, having signed from Swedish club Malmö for approximately €4.5 million. Blades defender Ahmedhodzic joins Feyenoord
Feyenoord have signed defender Anel Ahmedhodzic from Championship side Sheffield United on a four-year deal. The 26-year-old has made 114 appearances for the Blades since joining in July 2022 from Swedish side Malmo. He joins Feyenoord, who finished third in the Eredivisie last season, after they submitted an offer worth £15.6m (18m euros) with the Dutch club saying they are now working to secure his eligibility for Wednesday's Champions League qualifying-round fixture against Fenerbahce. Ahmedhodzic helped the Blades win promotion to the Premier League in 2022-23 and played in their top-flight campaign the following season as well as last term, when they were defeated in the Championship play-off final by Sunderland. Feyenoord confirm Anel Ahmedhodzic signing from Sheffield United
Feyenoord have completed the signing of Anel Ahmedhodzic. The 26-year-old centre-back joins from Sheffield United and has signed a long-term contract at De Kuip until the summer of 2029. In a statement on X, Sheffield United confirmed the transfer, saying, 'The Blades have accepted a significant transfer fee for Ahmedhodzic. Everyone wishes him the best in the next chapter of his career.' 'Things have moved incredibly quickly these past few days,' the Bosnian said in an initial response on Feyenoord's club website.
