Blaenau Gwent youngsters help celebrate 10 years of Food & Fun scheme
Running across six schools in the county borough, Food & Fun combines nutritious meals, active play, and creative enrichment to support children during the early weeks of the summer break.
For two weeks during the summer holidays, children can enjoy a safe, supportive environment where they can eat well, stay active, and take part in new experiences.
The programme promotes wellbeing and tackles holiday hunger, particularly in areas facing social and economic challenges.
More schools are expected to join the programme in 2026.
Angharad Barrett, Food & Fun coordinator for Blaenau Gwent, said: 'Over the past decade, we've seen how this programme transforms summer for children. The positive impact on children's physical and emotional wellbeing is clear, and the feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive."
