North Wales MS Sam Rowlands highlights August county shows

Sam Rowlands, who also chairs the Senedd's Cross-Party Group on Tourism, is backing the Anglesey Show and the Denbigh and Flint Show, both of which are key events in the agricultural calendar. Mr Rowlands said: "I am always happy to promote any events which bring more tourists into North Wales and these two popular shows are a really important part of the rural calendar and attract thousands of people from all over Wales and from further afield. "They are both excellent places to experience the best of Wales as many of our Welsh farmers will be showcasing their products and showing their livestock. "There is quite simply something for all ages whether you just want to browse the various stalls, watch the showjumping, the various displays or simply enjoy the agricultural extravaganzas." The Anglesey Show will take place on Tuesday, August 12, and Wednesday, August 13, at the Showground in Gwalchmai, Holyhead. Visitors can enjoy livestock displays, produce, arts and crafts, and a programme of equestrian events. The Denbigh and Flint Show follows on Thursday, August 21, on the Green near Denbigh. This event will feature a similar mix of attractions, with the Bolddog FMX team, Honda's official freestyle motocross display team, as the top draw. The team is managed by Dan Whitby, a freestyle motocross rider and the first person to flip a four-stroke motorcycle in Europe. The Denbigh and Flint Show will also host cooking demonstrations from several chefs, including Graham Tilsley, executive chef at Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire. Both shows draw thousands of visitors each year and feature a programme of livestock and equestrian competitions, including show jumping and sheep shearing. The events also offer live entertainment, food and craft stalls, and trade stands featuring everything from farm machinery to countryside pursuits.
