ACME Group , a clean energy firm, on Friday said it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. ( SECI ) for a green ammonia production project. Under this, the firm will supply 75,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia to Paradeep Phosphates, one of India's largest chemicals and fertiliser companies. According to a press release, the agreed price for green ammonia supply at the delivery point is set at ₹55.75 per kilogram. The green ammonia will be delivered to Paradeep Phosphates' facility in Paradeep, Odisha, over a period of 10 years. ACME Group participated in the competitive reverse auction held on July 29, 2025, through its entity, ACME Cleantech Solutions. "We look forward to swiftly commissioning the facility and delivering clean ammonia to Paradeep Phosphates Limited, thereby contributing to India's rapidly evolving green energy ecosystem," said Anil Kumar Taparia, Chief Operating Officer of ACME Group's Green Hydrogen & Ammonia SBU. The project award falls under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition Scheme Mode-2A, Tranche-I.

ACME to set up 400,000-tonne green ammonia plant at Tata SEZ in Odisha, to supply to Japan from 2029

New Delhi: ACME Group will establish a green hydrogen project with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia at the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (Tata SEZ) in Gopalpur, Odisha, the company announced on Thursday. The project is expected to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and support the National Green Hydrogen Mission by decarbonising hard-to-abate industrial sectors. 'ACME Group is privileged to associate with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone to establish our first Green Hydrogen project in India. The rapid industrialization of Odisha under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and the sustainability-focused ecosystem being developed empowers us to pursue our mission of providing innovative solutions to decarbonize various sectors for a greener future. The implementation of our project is on course to meet the stipulated timelines,' said Anil Kumar Taparia, Chief Operating Officer of ACME Green Hydrogen SBU. The announcement was made during the Groundbreaking and Inauguration Ceremony for five industrial projects at the Tata SEZ in Gopalpur Industrial Estate . Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, senior government officials, business leaders and ACME Group executives attended the ceremony. The company has signed an agreement with a Japanese corporation to supply the entire 400,000-tonne annual output from the Odisha facility beginning in 2029. The project is part of ACME's global strategy to enable the use of green hydrogen and ammonia across industrial sectors and to support Japan's Net Zero targets. According to the company, the facility at Gopalpur will be located within the Tata SEZ and will contribute to the growth of the state's clean energy industry . The project aligns with India's broader ambition to reduce emissions and promote alternative fuels for industrial decarbonisation.
