Con siphons 1.3 lakh from Armyman after stealing mobile at stn
Bhopal: A case of theft and fraud occurred at Bhopal Railway Station where an Armyman was duped of Rs1.3 lakh by a conman who allegedly tricked him , under the pretext of seeking help for train information, and fled with his mobile. He later used it to withdraw money through an ATM card and mobile banking app. According to Govt Railway Police (GRP) Bhopal, the victim, identified as Anil Kumar Verma, 32, a native of Uttar Pradesh, is currently posted in the Army in Bhopal. The conman then claimed he needed cash urgently and offered to transfer money via an online payment wallet. He asked to make a call and borrowed Verma's phone. Pretending to make a call, he gradually moved away and then vanished with the phone. 'Rs 699 Remaining In Bank Account' When Verma's wife visited the bank to block the account, she found that only Rs 699 remained. Alarmed, Verma returned to Bhopal from Agra and visited the bank branch, where he learned that Rs 70,000 was withdrawn from an ATM on Chhola Road, and another Rs60,000 was transferred via the banking app, making a total loss of Rs 1.3 lakh in the case. GRP Bhopal have filed a case and police are reviewing CCTV footage, and tracking the mobile and bank transactions to identify the suspect.

Tea seller beaten after being accused of mobile theft
Lucknow: A tea seller was tied up and beaten on the charge of stealing a mobile phone in Gomtinagar Extension. The incident took place on Friday, and a case was registered on Saturday. According to report, unidentified men riding a luxury car made the tea seller sit in the car on some pretext. After this, they took him to a garage and beat him badly with belts and wires. The victim, Anil Kumar Verma of Ballia, said that some people came to his shop on Friday for tea when someone stole the mobile phone of one of the youths. Instead of searching for the thief, they accused the shopkeeper of theft and frisked him but found nothing. At around 8.30 pm on the same day, a man came in a car and asked the tea seller to return the mobile. On refusal, he asked the victim to come with him. He took Anil to a garage where two other men came and quizzed the victim about the mobile, held him hostage and thrashed him badly.
