Police investigating death of 60-year-old woman in Montreal's Anjou borough
Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman who was found early Tuesday morning in an apartment in Montreal's Anjou neighbourhood as a homicide. Montreal police were called around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday to report to a residence near the intersection of Baldwin Street and Yves-Prévost Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. There were signs of violence on her body, according to preliminary reports. A security perimeter was erected to allow Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) major crimes unit investigators to examine the scene. Police have not made any arrests so far. The death marks the 22nd homicide on SPVM territory in 2025.

Montreal police (SPVM) says it received a call at 5:20 a.m. asking that officers do a wellness check at a home on Baldwin Street near Yves Prévost Boulevard. 'When police officers arrived on site, they found an inanimate body of a woman aged 60 years old,' said Julien Lévesque, a spokesperson with Montreal police. 'Sadly, her death was determined on site.' An investigation has been launched to understand the events leading up to her death. The force says the incident is the 22nd homicide on its territory this year.

Man dead after ‘possible gunshots' in Anjou
Montreal police said a man died in unknown circumstances in a residential building in Anjou Wednesday afternoon. Officers say they received 911 calls around 4:30 p.m. about 'possible gunshots' in a home on des Ormeaux Avenue in the Anjou borough. When they arrived on-site, police found a man in his 20s with serious injuries to the upper body. Police did not confirm the nature of the injuries but said the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. A perimeter has been established and the investigation is ongoing. At the moment, police say the death happened in 'unknown circumstances.'
