Pensioner thrown off plane for joking she 'had a bomb' in her bag

This is the moment an elderly woman was thrown off of a plane in Indonesia after joking that she had a bomb in her bag just moments before takeoff. Footage captured the moment she was removed from the plane on April 15 at Soekarno-Hatta airport in Jakarta. The video shows how the woman steps away from her seat and grabs her belongings without causing any commotion, as she cooperates with the officers and airline staff. She can then be seen walking down the aisle of the plane and out of the door as other passengers remained in their seats. The woman was removed from the flight as the Batik Air flight prepared to depart, after she reportedly told a flight attendant that she had brought a bomb on board with her. The cabin crew member immediately carried out the standard operational procedure and alerted the pilot and aviation security officers, who investigated the woman immediately. After being thrown off the plane, she was found to not be carrying any explosives. The incident resulted in the plane being delayed for two hours. The aircraft was flying from the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, Indonesia, to Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Manado, North Sulawesi, also in Indonesia. A spoekesperson for Batik Air said she had been banned from the airline. He said: 'A female guest passenger who sat in seat 11E was known to deliver a statement containing a threat element, namely admitting to bringing a bomb to one of the cabin crew. 'No items in the form of bombs were found. 'Batik Air also set internal sanctions in the form of blocking (blacklist) against the person concerned.' The incident comes just weeks after a British mother was escorted off a Ryanair flight by police when her card payment was declined after she started tucking into Pringles from the trolley. Ann-Marie Murray, 55, was travelling back from Tenerife to Bristol Airport on March 28 when her request for crisps, water and a coke took an ugly turn. The housing association worker was on her way back from the Canary Islands with her partner following a four-night holiday to celebrate her birthday. But she said her trip was ruined after what she thought was a harmless decision to start eating the Pringles before her payment had gone through descended into chaos. Ms Murray, from Gloucester, found herself at the centre of a dramatic police call-out after she was unable to pay the £7 bill as the card machine failed and she had no cash on her. The Ryanair crew called the police and three officers swooped on the plane and bundled Ms Murray into the back of their van when the flight touched down in Bristol. The airline said it made the decision to call the police because Ms Murray became 'disruptive', but the passenger denies this. Ms Murray said her partner asked a flight attendant if they wanted the Pringles back but they were told 'no'. She told The Mirror: 'I thought it was a joke when the crew said they had called the police. 'I was shocked when the police came onboard and we were asked to leave. It was so embarrassing. I had done everything I could to resolve it.' 'They then told the police I had refused to pay, but that wasn't the case. I wanted to pay, but my card didn't work and I had no cash.'

Police escort Gloucester mum off Ryanair flight after she is unable to pay for Pringles

A Gloucester mum says she was left in shock after the police were called after being unable to pay for a tube of Pringles. Officers escorted the 55-year-old off a Ryanair jet after she ate the crisps from the trolley before paying. Ann-Marie Murray ordered the Pringles, water and a cola on a flight from Tenerife to Bristol on March 28. The bill came to £7. But she was unable to pay when the in-flight card machine would not accept payment and she had no cash. Three police officers arrived and put the housing association worker in the back of their van, the Mirror reports. But Ann-Marie said: "I wasn't disruptive. There were no raised voices. "I was doing my best to pay. I tried to tap and pay, but the machine didn't work. They tried with another machine and when it still didn't go through I offered to get cash when we landed but they said I couldn't do that." Ann-Marie said her partner asked a steward if they wanted the Pringles back and was told "no". She added: "I thought it was a joke when the crew said they had called the police. "I was shocked when the police came onboard and we were asked to leave. It was so embarrassing. I had done everything I could to resolve it. "They then told the police I had refused to pay, but that wasn't the case. I wanted to pay, but my card didn't work and I had no cash." Ann-Marie had been visiting the Canary Island with her partner for a four-night mini-break to celebrate her birthday and says the incident ruined the trip. She says she had previously witnessed another passenger struggling to pay with a chip and pin card from the same bank on another Ryanair flight and was left shocked when staff didn't take a more pragmatic approach. She said: "Luckily the police were lovely and after I explained the situation they took me to a cash machine and I was able to pay the £7. The officers were laughing and couldn't believe it. "After I paid, the crew told me we're banned from flying with Ryanair, but I'd never fly with them again anyway after what happened." Avon and Somerset Police said: 'We received a report of a disruptive passenger on an inbound flight to Bristol Airport. Officers briefly attended, but quickly established it related to a civil dispute and no action was taken.' Ryanair said: "'During this flight, this passenger attempted to purchase food onboard, however the card did not process payment. As crew looked to resolve the payment issue, this passenger proceeded to ignore crew instructions, consume the items prior to payment and subsequently became disruptive. 'The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Bristol Airport and this passenger was removed. Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a safe and respectful environment, without unnecessary disruption.'

A Couple Ordered Pringles, a Coke and a Water on Their Flight. Then They Were Escorted Off the Plane by Police

On March 28, a couple was escorted off their Ryanair flight from Tenerife, Spain en route to Bristol, U.K. after being unable to pay for the snacks they acquired onboard, according to a report from SWNS via the New York Post. The wife, Ann-Marie Murray, 55, ordered Pringles, a bottle of water, and a Coca-Cola for nearly $9, but when she went to pay, she claims, the in-flight payment system wasn't accepting her credit card and the couple didn't have enough cash between them to pay.
