‘Sadgamaya' program in TTD schools from June 16
Tirupati: TTD EO J Syamala Rao announced that 'Sadgamaya' programme will be conducted in TTD schools from June 16 to 19, which aims to teach values like divine devotion, discipline, and social responsibility to students. It will also cover Bhagavad Gita teachings in simple language to ensure better understanding. The program will be held for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students at various TTD schools in Tirupati and Tirumala. The EO also reviewed ongoing projects, including Annamacharya and Dasa Sahitya Projects, as well as developments at SWIMS, and instructed officials to ensure timely completion. Officials present at the meeting included HDPP Secretary S Raghunath, Annamacharya Project Special Officer Dr Medasani Mohan, SWIMS Director RV Kumar, and Chief Engineer TV Satyanarayana.

Over 32K perform yoga to pay tribute to saint-poet Annamacharya
Annamayya district administration on Monday launched a massive yoga camp to commemorate the 617th birth anniversary of saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya at Tallapaka, the birthplace of the saint. As many as 617 participants performed yoga asanas near the 108-ft statue of Annamacharya on the Chennai-Nagpur National Highway. The session was organised as part of the State government's month-long Yogandhra-2025 initiative. As a tribute to Tallapaka Annamacharya, over 32,000 people performed yoga postures at various villages, mandal headquarters, and divisions across the district. Emphasizing the positive impact of yoga on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, Collector Sridhar Chamakuri felt that yoga must be made a part of daily life to build a healthier society. The camp commenced with devotional renditions of Annamacharya's popular sankeertanas. Yoga Guru Ranganatha Reddy started the session, guiding participants through various modes of yoga, including asanas, meditation, and affirmations. Rajampeta MLA Akeapati Amarnath Reddy and senior officials from the district and mandal level took part in the event.

Scholars say Annamacharya was a social reformer
Tirupati: While describing the great literary works of Saint Poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya as incredible scholars univocally advocated, he also stood as a social reformer during his times. The 617th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri TallapakaAnnamacharya were held at the AnnamacharyaKalamandiram in Tirupati on Tuesday. Renowned scholar Acharya Sarvottama Rao presided over the literary conference organized on this occasion. He said that Annamayya'sSankeertans were helpful for the development of society and many Telugu poets have drawn inspiration from his literature. Annamayya's descendants Hariharayanacharya, speaking on the topic 'Srivari Temple AnnamayyaSevaKankarya', said that Annamayya was a devotee who had shown devotion to Srivaru since childhood. He said that Annamayya has introduced Kalyanotsavam and other services in the Srivari Temple which were being observed even today. Another scholar Sriramulu, said that Annamacharya considered devotion to be the best among the tools for achieving salvation. Later in the evening Annamacharya project artist Bullemma and team performed devotional vocal. Later, Purushottam and group from Tirupati presented Harikatha. TTD Annamacharya Project Director Dr Medasani Mohan, Program Assistant Latha, other officials and a large number of denizens participated in this program.
