The Woman of Substance Conference, Pioneering Excellence: Passion, Power and Mastery in Motion
African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) Forum is gearing up for the highly anticipated event: Annual Woman of Substance Conference and Fundraising Banquet set to take place in Johannesburg, on Wednesday, 6 August 2025. With the theme: 'Pioneering Excellence: Passion, Power and Mastery in Motion', the conference will provide a unique platform for women in the accounting and economic sectors to collaborate, share insights and discuss key issues that are fundamental to driving change while empowering and advancing women in the accounting profession. The keynote address for the Conference will be delivered by Sindi Zwila, co-founder and retired Chief Executive Officer at Nkonki, Author and Independent Non-Executive Director, and the event will feature a series of panel discussions by influential speakers, including: Irene Charnley, Business and Social Entrepreneur and is the former President of International Women's Forum South Africa (IWFSA) Cheryl-Jane Kujenga, Chief Financial Officer of BCX Tinyiko Sihlangu, Chief Financial Officer of Royal Bafokeng Holdings Ncumisa Mkunqwana, Chief Executive Officer at Chapu CA Inc Nonkululeko Gobodo, Chief Executive Officer of Awakened Global, a social initiative and the former Chairman and founder of SNG Grant Thornton 'At AWCA, our priority is identifying, nurturing and leading through initiatives aimed at pioneering excellence, mutual empowerment and driving change. Our initiatives are crucial as they solidify the future of African CAs through highlighting and discussing sustainable channels to ensure that the future of African women is secured through their desire to be professional CAs,' says AWCA President, Pumla Molope. The conference will be followed by the annual fundraising banquet that will honour and recognise South Africa's most exceptional women and industry leaders, whilst also raising funds to facilitate access to the profession and contribute to AWCA's mission of accelerating the advancement of Black Female Chartered Accountants.
