Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid forced to step in during fiery show debate
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was forced to step in during a fiery on-air row Susanna Reid had to intervene during a heated debate on Monday's Good Morning Britain. The 54-year-old presenter, alongside co-host Richard Madeley, was discussing the topic "is EU deal a betrayal of Brexit?" with guests Femi Oluwole and Annunziata Rees-Mogg when the debate escalated. However, the debate took a fiery turn with Susanna forced to step in and tell Femi: "You've got to respect Annunziata's opinion — I'd like to point out so far that the majority so far of the viewers who have got in touch with us agree with Annunziata." Yet, Femi persisted, repeatedly calling out Susanna's name, resulting in her telling him: "Femi, you can keep saying my name but I need to make the point that Annunziata is making a view heard, or trying to, which a lot people who voted for Brexit agree with. "The people who have got in touch with us this morning have not died, they are still living voters who feel that their democratic decision is now being overturned." She added: "You don't need to talk about Annunziata in the third person, she's right in front of you!" At this point, Annunziata also chimed in: "Yeah, you can talk to me and also let me speak!", reports Bristol Live. Susanna then tried to refocus the conversation, urging: "Okay, now let Annunziata speak!" only to be met with Femi's plea: "Let me finish my point, please!" Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to react to the fiery debate as one person said: "Wow, Susanna and Richard good thing you're in between these two bring out the gloves?? They both have good points by talking over each other doesn't not make it right!" Elsewhere during Monday's edition of Good Morning Britain, avid football supporter Susanna couldn't contain her joy over her team securing the FA Cup for the very first time. The jubilant presenter also used Instagram to express her elation about Crystal Palace's victory over Manchester City, clinching the FA Cup trophy. In a weekend post on Instagram accompanied by a cheerful photo from the match, Susanna wrote: "GLAD ALL OVER! It is hard to believe - @cpfc have won the FA cup for the FIRST TIME!" Reveling in the triumph, she added: "Such an epic achievement - the players, the manager, the club, the fans. Such a happy day. Eze was a hero and Henderson was a legend. Best day ever for @cpfc fans."

The Most Iconic Sega Genesis Game is Making a Comeback
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors The Sega Genesis is one of the most beloved video game consoles in history, and home to a host of fantastic games that are remembered fondly to this day. The console saw classics like Sonic The Hedgehog take off, but one game in particular has had a strangely enduring legacy, and it's set to make a comeback very soon. In an interview with Xbox Wire, Ecco the Dolphin creator Ed Annunziata revealed that a brand-new game in the series is on the way, with "the entire original team" apparently returning to help make it happen. Before that happens, though, Annunziata's team is going to release remasters of the first two games in the series, Ecco the Dolphin and its sequel The Tides of Time. A Sega Genesis Mini from the Showcase Trailer for the device. A Sega Genesis Mini from the Showcase Trailer for the device. Sega The team has launched a website with a very lengthy countdown timer, which is counting down to April 26, 2026. It's not known if this countdown is referring to the remasters of the original games or the new game, but it's very exciting for fans of the series, which hasn't seen a new release since the Dreamcast's Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future in 2000. Ecco the Dolphin is a strange action-adventure game, originally released for the Genesis in 1992, featuring an adorable bottlenose dolphin named Ecco, who stumbles upon ancient alien technology that allows him to travel through time and space in search for his lost pod. The game was a huge success, selling over half a million copies and spawning four sequels. The game has since been re-released on a number of different systems, including the Sega CD, the Game Gear, the Master System, PC, iOS, Xbox, the Nintendo 3DS, and the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Switch Online service. It's remembered fondly for its unique control scheme, eclectic storytelling, and colorful graphics, and widely considered one of the best Sega Genesis games ever made.

Beloved Sega Mega Drive series is coming back with remasters and a new sequel
Months after new trademarks were spotted, the creator of Ecco The Dolphin has confirmed the series is returning next year. When it was discovered that Sega had filed new trademarks for Ecco The Dolphin in January, it was suspected that this was the secret announcement Microsoft was teasing for the then upcoming Xbox showcase. That wasn't the case, with the surprise reveal being for a new Ninja Gaiden instead, but it appears there was significance behind those Ecco trademarks after all. According to Ecco creator Ed Annunziata, not only is he and the original team reuniting to remaster the first two Ecco games, but they're working on a new sequel as well. Xbox Wire recently posted an article celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, where it highlighted several games, like Tchia and Ecco, that take inspiration from API cultures. This included a short interview with Annunziata about Ecco's influences and how it aimed to raise awareness about ocean preservation, which Annunziata capped off with an announcement for the future of the series. 'Me and the entire original team are going to remaster the original Ecco The Dolphin and Tides Of Time games,' explained Annunziata. 'Then we will make a new, third game with contemporary play and GPU sensibilities.' There are no other details, with Annunziata only sharing a countdown website that's set to end in approximately 8,500 hours at the time of writing. So, you can expect to see a bigger announcement around this time next year. Curiously, there's no mention of Sega's involvement with any of these projects, but you have to assume it is since, aside from the aforementioned trademarks, Sega owns the rights to the Ecco IP. Original developer Appaloosa Interactive was a Hungarian studio that made the Ecco games for Sega and was never a subsidiary of the company. Ecco The Dolphin is a series of extremely challenging action adventure games for the Mega Drive and Dreamcast, that saw the titular dolphin explore the depths of the ocean and travel through time to fend off an alien invasion. Popular with non-gamers at the time, Ecco developed a cult following and has seen a handful of re-releases over the years. However, the series met its end with the Dreamcast game Ecco The Dolphin: Defender Of The Future, a reboot that we're guessing the new Ecco game will ignore in favour of sticking with the continuity of the first two games. The Dreamcast game wasn't a big hit and a planned sequel was cancelled, which is the last time Appaloosa Interactive worked with Sega. Although they did make a spiritual successor in 2006's Jaws Unleashed, which had many similarities with Defender Of The Future. More Trending It wasn't a success either and proved to be Appalosa Interactive's last game, with the studio shutting down the very same year. Ever since, Annunziata has been trying to continue Ecco the Dolphin, having previously ran a crowdfunding campaign for a spiritual successor called The Big Blue that ultimately failed. In the wake of its failure, Annunziata filed a lawsuit to try and reclaim Ecco from Sega and according to a GamesBeat report from 2016, the two sides reached an undisclosed settlement. Presumably, this has helped pave the way for Annunziata to reunite the original team for the Ecco remasters and sequel. A new 'Ecco the Dolphin' game and remasters are on the way
Ecco the Dolphin , the Sega-published game series starring a time-traveling bottlenose dolphin, is making a comeback, according to a new interview in Xbox Wire. The series' creator Ed Annunziata says that both Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time are being remastered, and a third game is in the works. "Me and the entire original team are going to remaster the original Ecco the Dolphin and Tides of Time games," Annunziata says. "Then we will make a new, third game with contemporary play and GPU sensibilities." Ecco the Dolphin was featured alongside games like Tchia and Coral Island for Xbox's celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and games that draw "inspiration from API cultures." For its part, Ecco the Dolphin is about a porpoise, but Annunziata says his goal was always to "create a game that sparked curiosity and respect for the ocean." Annunziata tried to get a spiritual successor to Ecco funded on Kickstarter in 2013, but failed to raise enough money to get the project off the ground. He sued Sega for the rights to the original franchise that same year, and ultimately settled with the publisher in 2016, GamesBeat reports. The settlement might be why remasters and a new game can happen in the first place. While it's considered a classic for its difficult gameplay and iconic soundtrack, Ecco the Dolphin hasn't been particularly easy to play legally if you don't already own it. The game was one of several Sega titles that were delisted from digital storefronts in December 2024. Annunziata didn't share further details about either project in the interview, but did point readers to an Ecco the Dolphin website, which currently has a countdown timer that's set to end on April 25, 2026.
