(WTWO/WAWV) — South Knox Girls Basketball Coach Hollie Anson-Eave has been chosen as the 2025 Bob King Coach of the Year for Indiana's District Three, after leading her team to win the Class 2A state championship and first state championship in school history. The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) awards this honor to one coach in each of Indiana's three IHSAA district boundaries. Anson-Eave was selected by her peers in the IBCA through voting that took place from late January to late February, IBCA executive director Marty Johnson said. This season, Anson-Eave led the South Knox Lady Spartan's to a 28-2 record on the way to winning their first Class 2A state championship. The Lady Spartans also won the Corydon Central Invitational, the Blue Chip Conference, the North Knox Sectional, the Charlestown Regional and the Jasper Semi-State. South Knox wins 2A State Championship Anson-Eave is a graduate of South Knox, where she was the team MVP, team captain and an honorable mention in all-conference. She then went on to continue her basketball career at Brescia University in Kentucky, before returning to South Knox as a coach. In her 11 seasons as head coach, Anson-Eaves has a record of 177-110 with previous sectional titles in 2017 and 2019. She will also be the head coach for the South Team in the 2025 Indiana All-Star girls' Futures Game. The Coach of the Year award is named after former IBCA executive director Bob King, who also formerly served as Purdue University's assistant basketball coach, assistant athletic director and associate athletic director. The IBCA Bob King Girls' Coach of the Year Award has been given out since the 1983-84 season. Lenny Krebs of Class 4A state runner-up Warsaw and Brian Satterfield of Class 4A semi-state finalist Hamilton Southeastern were also honored with the coach of the year award for districts one and two, in the 2024-2025 season.
