South Knox girls coach honored as Coach of the Year

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — South Knox Girls Basketball Coach Hollie Anson-Eave has been chosen as the 2025 Bob King Coach of the Year for Indiana's District Three, after leading her team to win the Class 2A state championship and first state championship in school history.
The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) awards this honor to one coach in each of Indiana's three IHSAA district boundaries. Anson-Eave was selected by her peers in the IBCA through voting that took place from late January to late February, IBCA executive director Marty Johnson said.
This season, Anson-Eave led the South Knox Lady Spartan's to a 28-2 record on the way to winning their first Class 2A state championship. The Lady Spartans also won the Corydon Central Invitational, the Blue Chip Conference, the North Knox Sectional, the Charlestown Regional and the Jasper Semi-State.
South Knox wins 2A State Championship
Anson-Eave is a graduate of South Knox, where she was the team MVP, team captain and an honorable mention in all-conference. She then went on to continue her basketball career at Brescia University in Kentucky, before returning to South Knox as a coach.
In her 11 seasons as head coach, Anson-Eaves has a record of 177-110 with previous sectional titles in 2017 and 2019. She will also be the head coach for the South Team in the 2025 Indiana All-Star girls' Futures Game.
The Coach of the Year award is named after former IBCA executive director Bob King, who also formerly served as Purdue University's assistant basketball coach, assistant athletic director and associate athletic director.
The IBCA Bob King Girls' Coach of the Year Award has been given out since the 1983-84 season.
Lenny Krebs of Class 4A state runner-up Warsaw and Brian Satterfield of Class 4A semi-state finalist Hamilton Southeastern were also honored with the coach of the year award for districts one and two, in the 2024-2025 season.

(WTWO/WAWV) — South Knox girls basketball player Elle Bobe has been named a winner of the Wooden/MCL Citizenship award for 2025. During her senior season, Bobe led the South Knox girls' basketball team to a 28-2 record and the Class 2A state championship, while averaging 19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Bobe has also set school records for career points (1,756), season points (581 as a senior) and points in a single game (37 points). She also holds records for career three-pointers, career assists and free throw percentage. South Knox girls coach honored as Coach of the Year Bobe is a three-time IBCA Small School All-State selection, a four-time all-Blue Chip Conference selection, a three-time Vincennes Sun-Commercial first-team All-Area and Player of the Year and two-time Evansville Courier & Press all-Southwestern Indiana. Bobe plans to major in physical therapy at the University of Southern Indiana, after being named class valedictorian. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and President of her school's Business Club. Bobe was also a vice president and participant in Student Council, Key Club and Interact Club. Hollie Eaves named IBCA District 3 Coach of the Year The Wooden/MCL Citizenship Award has been presented to one All-Star boy and one All-Star girl annually since 1992. The award is named after the late John Wooden, a former player at Martinsville High School and Purdue University, and later a 10-time NCAA championship coach at UCLA. (AP) — Eddie King Jr. doubled in the winning run in the seventh inning to lift Louisville to a 3-2 win over Miami on Sunday, advancing the Cardinals to their sixth College World Series. King's clutch hit came after Jake Munroe's two-out single and a wild pitch.
