'I've tested over 10 different SPFs - this is the only one I'd buy on Prime Day'

Learn more La Roche Posay's viral sunscreen is currently £12 for Prime Day (Image: Lauren Gordon) I used to review beauty products for a living and every so often, a brand new SPF would land on my desk, ready to be tried and tested. So, I think it's fair to say I've tried a fair few face sun creams and could give you a quickfire review of each one. But outside of my SPF experiments, there's only one SPF that I found myself returning to, its lightweight formula and no-white-cast finish pulling me back every time. It's the La Roche-Posay's Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50+ - and it's currently on sale for £12.48 as part of Amazon's Prime Day extravaganza, instead of the usual price of £19. The La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid Suncream is a skincare dream, as it helps to protect your skin against damage caused by UVA, UVB and ultra-long UVA rays. Its been specifically developed for sensitive skin, offering a high protection, comfortable formula that is water, sweat and sand resistant. And it gives no eye sting - a huge tick. The La Roche Posay SPF is one of my favourites (Image: Lauren Gordon) As someone who has tried multiple SPFs, the La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid Suncream is a clear winner. Yes it's on the pricier side, but the texture wins me over and it never irritates my skin, even if I'm having a day where it's particularly inflamed or agitated. It works well with my other skincare products in keeping my skin barrier up to standard and sits comfortably under makeup primers and foundations. And I'm not alone in my love of the product, one reviewer called the SPF the "the most brilliant sunscreen I've ever tried!" Another reviewer wrote: "Great product, a small amount goes a long way. Easy to carry in a small hand bag." For more stories like this subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated roundup of trending stories, poignant interviews, and viral lifestyle picks from The Mirror's Audience U35 team delivered straight to your inbox. The viral sun cream deserves all the praise it receives and, in my opinion, is well worth the original price - but I love a good bargain. The fluid is usually on offer at Boots and can be found in stores or online. You can also nab the product on LookFantastic as well as adding it to your Amazon Prime Day haul. Sweat and sand-resistant, the high-protection sun cream creates a lightweight veil on the skin with an invisible, non-greasy finish. Specifically designed for sensitive skin types, the minimalist formula is ideal for daily use, whether worn alone or under makeup. The two-in-one summer skincare essential that's less than £17
The two-in-one summer skincare essential that's less than £17 Those who have used the sun cream have said 'I wouldn't be without it' The tinted fluid allows you to skip a step in your everyday routine (Image: Boots ) When the hot weather rolls around a full face of make-up can leave you feeling greasy after long day in the heat. Wearing a sun screen to protect you from the harsh rays as well as a foundation can often feel heavy on the skin, but we've found a two-in-one time saving product that can help that. La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Invisible Fluid Tinted, is a skin tint that acts as both a foundation and sun cream. With an SPF of 50+, this product will protect you from the sun and leave your skin looking flawless. You can now buy it for just £16.80 from Boots. The 50ml product is perfect for taking on holiday in your hand luggage, as it fits under airport's 100ml liquid limit. It's been described as non-sticky, non-greasy and doesn't leave white marks like some sun screens. It has very high protection for UV induced damage and is also water resistant, sweat and sand resistant. The La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Invisible Fluid Tinted allows you to look natural and beach ready without the added need for make-up. Meaning, you can swipe the product on quickly and you're ready for a full day of lounging on the sand or by the pool without worrying about the impact the sun has on your skin. Overall the product has 4.2 stars on the Boots website and 80% of reviewers recommend the product. The light tinted liquid combines the benefits of a foundation with the added benefits of a sun screen (Image: Boots ) One customer said: "A good sunscreen for anyone with sensitive eyes and prone to breakouts. This product isn't greasy, gives good protection and doesn't migrate into the eyes. An added bonus is the tint, which gives a look of a light tan." Another added: "Use this every single day during summer and winter. I don't need any foundation or further coverage this does it all.." However, some customers said the shade of the tint didn't necessarily suit their skin colour. Although, one person suggested a good alternative option. They said: "This sunblock is light and non greasy and extremely effective. Some people complain that it is too dark in colour but I buy both the tinted and the untinted and mix them to my own desired shade. "Compared to the sunblock for faces produced by cosmetic houses La Roche-Posay is very reasonably priced. I have been using it for four years now and I'm certain it has faded sunspots on my face. I wouldn't be without it." If you aren't too sure if the skin tint is the right shade for you, you can find the untinted sunscreen, La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50+, from Sephora for £19.95. Alternatively, if you are keen to find a skin tint, Look Fantastic sell the Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Huez Tinted Moisturiser Broad Spectrum Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen for £25.60. This comes in 10 different shades and is said to be suitable for all skin types. Article continues below Another option would be Elf's Halo Glow Skin Tint SPF 50 on their website for just £16. Much like the Fenty option this comes in a range of shades, 18 to be exact, with six shade families and three undertones each.

Experts reveal three-step simple skincare routine that'll save you money and time
With an endless array of skincare products on the market nowadays, we asked the experts how to make sense of it all, and the three essentials you should never skip Once upon a time, the skincare slogan was 'cleanse, tone and moisturise'. Now, shoppers are faced with all manner of serums, essences, lotions, creams, mists and masks in the beauty aisles, making it confusing to know exactly what you really need to be using, and how. And more isn't always better. Overload your skin with too many products and you risk aggravating it instead of improving it, or even developing conditions such as perioral dermatitis. Plus, lengthy skincare routines can get expensive, time-consuming and even obsessive. To help debunk the skincare shelves, we asked the experts for their skincare essentials and how to add in extras. Plus, we share some tried and tested recommendations from our team... The basics Experts agree on the key skincare non-negotiables: cleanser, SPF during the day and a retinoid at night if you want to see real skin changes. 'These pillars are essentials for a solid skincare routine,' says Dr Ahmed El Muntasar, NHS GP, cosmetic doctor and founder of The Aesthetics Doctor clinics. Cleanser ' A good cleanser is a must to remove dirt, oil and impurities, ensuring a clean base for your routine,' says Dr Ahmed. Find one to suit your skin type and budget. Those with dry skin might like a cream or milky cleanser, while oilier complexions may prefer a gel or foaming formula. Double cleansing isn't always necessary. 'I find it a bit overkill, especially if you have skin issues, as it could potentially upset its microbiome,' says dermatology nurse practitioner Emma Coleman, who founded and runs Emma Coleman Skin clinics. When to use it: A splash of water may feel enough for your skin in the morning, but don't skip a cleanser in the evening. We love: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, £11.50. Sunscreen 'SPF is a non-negotiable step during the day to protect against UV damage and premature ageing, regardless of skin type,' says Dr Ahmed. Chemical sunscreens typically look and feel nicer on the skin, while those with sensitive skin should try mineral sunscreens. When to use it: Every morning, all year round. We love: La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50+, was £20, now £16. Retinoids Often referred to by the umbrella term 'retinol', retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A, and boost cell turnover. They're referred to as 'the gold standard in anti-ageing' – and for good reason. 'Apart from if you're very sensitive, retinol does something beneficial for every skin type, whether that's helping with signs of ageing, breakouts, pigmentation or texture,' says Emma. When to use it: At night, on clean skin. Start with a low concentration, like 1%, then build up, and introduce it gradually into your routine to allow your skin to adjust. We love: Medik8 Crystal Retinal, from £45. Extras Eye cream Add if... You have specific concerns about the eye area, whether that's dark circles, puffiness or fine lines. 'They won't work miracles, but most people can benefit from using an eye cream,' says Emma. 'A retinol-based formula can help to tackle lines and wrinkles, and I also like ones that contain antioxidants such as vitamin C or flavonoids.' When to use it: Morning and night, the next step after cleansing. We love: REN Clean Skincare Radiance Brightening Dark Circle Eye Cream, was £49, now £39.20. Essence Add if... You have dehydrated skin and want an extra lightweight layer of hydration. 'Essences are lightweight fluids, inspired by Korean beauty, that can provide an extra layer of moisture and nourishment,' explains Dr Ahmed. 'However, not everyone needs them.' An essence could potentially replace a serum. When to use it: After cleansing and before moisturiser, before or in place of serum. We love: Curél Hydrating Water Essence, £17.50. Serum or moisturiser Add if... Your skin needs more hydration than it's getting from the basics. You may find that your sunscreen and retinol products are moisturising enough, but if not, 'a hydrating and repairing serum, such as one containing niacinamide or hyaluronic acid, helps to nourish and strengthen the skin barrier,' says Dr Ahmed. When to use it: After cleansing and after applying active ingredients. We love: The INKEY List Ectoin Hydro-Barrier Serum, £15. Exfoliator Add if... You have congestion, blackheads visible signs of ageing or pigmentation. 'Physical exfoliators (scrubs) slough off dead skin cells, while chemical exfoliators (acids) break down the bonds between skin cells, helping to lift them away,' Dr Ahmed says. 'I believe everyone should exfoliate as we age, since our skin's renewal cycle slows down. It's important to be gentle with exfoliation.' When to use it: Once or twice a week in the evenings. We love: Skin Rocks The Gentle Acid, £49. Face masks Add this if… You want a quick boost of hydration or glow, or a moment of self-care. Face masks come in many forms nowadays: cream, charcoal, sheet, peel-off… 'While they can provide temporary results, I'm sceptical about their lasting impact,' says Dr Ahmed. 'That said, if you enjoy using them, there's no harm in incorporating them into your routine. Masks contain exfoliating acids can offer more noticeable results.' W e love: Garnier Hyaluronic Cryo Jelly Anti-Fatigue Sheet Mask, £4.99.
