A linebacker from talent-rich Georgia has included Auburn in his top-five schools ahead of his planned Summer commitment. Anthony Davis, a four-star linebacker from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, recently dropped his top-five choices, with Auburn joining Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, and Michigan. Davis visited Auburn last weekend and will visit Ole Miss, Michigan, and Alabama before June ends. In a recent interview with On3, Davis shared his thoughts regarding Auburn and its in-state rival, Alabama. Davis says that both programs have great qualities that are attractive as his recruitment winds down. 'Auburn and Alabama are great schools and I really like the coaches at both schools," Davis said. "I have been to Auburn a lot and I feel comfortable there. Alabama has really impressed me when I have visited there.' Two linebackers have committed to Auburn so far this cycle: Shadarius Toodle and Jamichael Garrett, and four defensive players total in its No. 36-ranked class. Anthony Davis injured in Dallas Mavericks debut, expected to miss NBA All-Star

Anthony Davis' first game for the Dallas Mavericks ended early after he suffered a non-contact injury during their 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Davis, acquired last week from the Los Angeles Lakers in a trade involving Luka Doncic, had a strong debut, recording 26 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists before exiting late in the third quarter. The 31-year-old fell to the floor clutching his lower body while attempting to defend a dunk by Alperen Sengun. Despite Davis' departure, the Mavericks secured the win with contributions from Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving, who scored 13 points each. Dallas led 65-48 at halftime but saw Houston cut the deficit to two in the third quarter before Naji Marshall and Irving helped seal the victory. Davis downplayed concerns about his injury, saying, 'My leg got tight, like a little spasm… But I managed to loosen it up, and it's nothing serious. I'm fine.' However, according to ESPN's Shams Charania, Davis has suffered a left adductor strain and is expected to miss several weeks, ruling him out until after the NBA All-Star break. He was selected as an All-Star for the 10th time but will be unable to participate. The Mavericks next face the Denver Nuggets as they continue their season without their new star.

Lebron James, Tyrese Maxey dap up NFC champion Eagles as they sit courtside for Sixers game

Was it overdue? Maybe. But it was all good vibes Tuesday night as the Philadelphia 76ers congratulated the NFC champion Eagles, with several players ringing the bell before the game and sitting courtside at the Wells Fargo Center. The Birds got to witness a great game against Lebron James and Anthony Davis' Los Angeles Lakers — Tyrese Maxey turned in a dominant 43-point performance, propelling the team to a 118-104 win despite Paul George and Joel Embiid sitting out with injuries. And video shared by CBS Sports shows James dapped up the Eagles receivers during the pregame shootaround. That's got to feel cool. In short, all is right in the Philly sports world now. Social media users in Philly were wondering when the Sixers might acknowledge the Birds' 55-23 thrashing of the Washington Commanders, securing a spot in Super Bowl LIX. The night of the win and the next day, fellow Philly pro teams like the Phillies, Flyers and Union celebrated, but the Sixers' social accounts were noticeably quiet about the success of their neighbor across the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Some speculated that was because Harris Blitzer Sports Entertainment, Josh Harris' management company that owns the Sixers, also owns the Commanders. Regardless, the Eagles got plenty of love at the Sixers' arena, they showed love back and the Sixers won. After the game, the Sixers shared video showing Maxey coming up to the courtside Birds. More daps ensued.
