Community pays respect to over 15,000 buried at Florence National Cemetery
FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — With more than 15,000 buried at the Florence National Cemetery, those who came out on Memorial Day felt it was the least they could for the price that so many paid. 'It's amazing. Everyone wanted to come together all for the same reason,' director Anthony Ramos said. 'To honor our vets, our fallen veterans, and be able to come together as a whole, as a collective and do this ceremony.' Over 15,000 men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in some form or fashion are buried at Florence National Cemetery. Whether they're a spouse of a soldier, or a soldier themselves, Memorial Day gave the community the opportunity to show their appreciation. 'I feel like a lot of the veterans are forgotten about, and anything we can do to help their honor and have them recognized is something that we really need to do,' Mark Baur of Christian Motorcycle Association said. The keynote speaker, retired Naval officer Lt. Commander James Bethea Jr., is now over the Naval JROTC program at South Florence High School. He served for 30 years and says Memorial Day is more than just the start of summer. 'For those that have served in the military, Memorial Day holds a greater significance, as it commemorates the brave men and women who lost their lives defending our great nation,' Bethea said. The flags were put out in just over and hour and a half on Saturday, with the help of volunteers like the Boys and Girls Scouts, as well as other groups in the community. * * * Eric Cooper is a multimedia journalist at News13. Ironheart trailer: Black Panther's Riri Williams creates her personal Iron Man suit. Watch
Ironheart Trailer Out: Marvel has released the trailer of its new series Ironheart which stars Dominique Thorne as a genius teen who creates her own most advanced, Iron Man armour. The show which has been executive produced by Ryan Coogler will release on June 24 on JioHotstar. (Also read: Spider-Noir teaser leaked online hours after first look; Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man excites fans: 'Sin City meets Marvel') The story of the series follows the journey of Riri after her introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as she rises to the occasion to become Ironheart. She will face many friendly faces in her corner along with the villain such as The Hood played by Anthony Ramos. As soon as the trailer dropped, fans started pouring in their reaction on the new series. One fan wrote, "Ironheart is about to shock some people!" Another one commented, 'I'm hopeful that because Ryan Coogler was the executive producer behind this, that they cooked up something special. The main villain looks kinda goofy, even though I love Anthony Ramos; he looks like he's cosplaying at a Renaissance festival (sic).' Another one said, 'Big Coogler fan, glad he's attached. Trailer looks promising.' Directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, Ironheart stars Dominique Throne, Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, Zoe Terakes and Lyric Ross among others. The series is created by Chinaka Hodge and executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout. Marvel Television's Ironheart is releasing a 3-episode premiere on June 24 exclusively on JioHotstar.

Marvel Afterthought, ‘Ironheart,' Gets A Disappointing First Trailer
Ironheart Marvel just aired the first-ever trailer for Ironheart on the same day the DCU's Superman trailer drops, and the series will have a three episode premiere in June for a six episode series in total. Yikes. It is almost impossible to think that Ironheart is anything but an afterthought for Disney, which has announced that it is scaling back on TV series, presumably for reasons like this. The new spot shows of Riri Williams, architect of a new, Stark-like suit in the wake of his death, though with seemingly no connection to the man, nor did their stories overlap when the character first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as a disjointed part of that film. Ryan Coogler seemed to want to show her off in the sequel film he directed, and while he remains an executive producer on the series, Ironheart does not look good from this trailer, and it definitely does not seem likely Disney believes in it all that much with this kind of promotion and that airing schedule. Given that Ironheart is staring a black woman, there is unfortunately already a mass amount of 'DEI' and 'woke' culture war commentary attached to this already, but the seeming quality issues seem to have nothing to do with that. Riri Williams has an established comic presence but this trailer (and her previous appearance) do not seem to channel anything that made her charismatic and popular. And the seeming villain of the story, Anthony Ramos' The Hood, already feels off from his performance to his cheap-looking costume. This is, no doubt, another hugely expensive production given that this time, there needs to be loads of CGI for her custom-made suit. Or to lower the budget, perhaps they don't use the suit as much as they should. This feels like one of the last shows in an era of Disney greenlighting large amounts of Marvel series left and right no matter their concept or budget or quality. Now, they seem to be focused more on cheaper, more impressive shows like Daredevil, Punisher, and probably a slate of other more 'street-focused' heroes that do not zip around in large suits of armor. Could Ironheart actually be good? It's not impossible, and maybe the concept is better than it sounds like and the show is better than it looks, but this is a poor first impression for a series that it almost seems like Disney may now regret making.
