HATE IN LA: The national headquarters of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) in Los Angeles was recently targeted with antisemitic vandalism, prompting a hate crime investigation by local law enforcement. Vandals spray-painted swastikas, SS symbols, and the word "burn" on the sidewalk in front of the building. AWKWARD SILENCE: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney faced criticism for failing to promptly condemn the assault of a Jewish man walking with his children in a Montreal suburb last week. The victims were in a park when the suspect, who was arrested later, sprayed them with water. Carney commented on the incident at 11 p.m. Saturday — roughly a day and a half later — after Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar publicly criticized Ottawa's response. The Columbia University graduate student said that, although he thinks the Hamas attack that killed more than 1,200 people in Israel in late 2023 was wrong, he saw it as a desperate attempt to make sure the world knew the plight of Gazans at the hands of Israel. The "disruptions," which Columbia also referred to as "high-volume events," included the May 7 riots at Butler Library, an encampment during Alumni Weekend in spring 2024, and three other chaotic events in spring 2024. Disciplinary actions included probation, suspensions (ranging from one year to three years), degree revocations and expulsions. VIDEO: Squad leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., opened up about her breakfast with mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and ICE activity in her district. WATCH HERE: UNLIKELY TARGET: Police in New York City responded after a campaign office for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was vandalized with a painted anti-Israel slogan this weekend. Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, grew up in Tenafly, N.J. He moved to Israel at 18 to volunteer for military service in the IDF's Golani Brigade. He was kidnapped on the morning of Oct. 7, 2023. President Donald Trump, following Alexander's release, wrote on Truth Social "Congratulations to his wonderful parents, family, and friends!" WATCH HERE: CAMPUS CRACKDOWN: A Democrat governor in a key swing state signed a bill that outlaws encampments on public university campuses as protests continue to erupt at schools across the United States. Those who set up encampments may be held liable for damages to campuses, and those who do not leave are subject to trespassing charges. HARD LINE ON HARVARD: The Trump administration garnered mixed reactions after announcing it would stop all future grant funding for Harvard University unless the school complied with its demands.
