DELGADO VIENTIANE -- In its largest restructuring in decades, Laos is merging major ministries to cut costs as one of Southeast Asia's poorest nations grapples with high inflation and debt payments, half of them to China. The Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) announced the overhaul in a recent resolution signed by Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, also the party secretary general.
