Man wanted in shooting death of 18-year-old Jackson woman

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Jackson police are asking the community for assistance in locating a man charged with homicide in the of 18-year-old Mia Sims in late July. Antonio Treyvonne Green, pictured below, has been charged with second degree murder, discharging a firearm in or at a building causing death, and felony firearm. Second degree murder carries a penalty of up to life in prison with the possibility of parole. According to the Jackson Police Department, officers responded to the area of United Peoples Church at around 12:45 p.m. on July 27 after receiving a shots fired call. When they arrived, they found Sims with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was taken to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office and the Jackson Police Department are asking for the public's help in locating Green. If you see him or have any information as to his whereabouts, call 911 or contact detectives at 517-768-6432. Jackson mayor confirms niece was shot in July

LANSING, Mich. () — Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney confirmed his niece, Mia Sims, was shot and killed in late July. Sims, 18, was shot near the United Peoples Church in Jackson. Man wanted in shooting death of 18-year-old Jackson woman 'He shot my niece while she was at church,' Mahoney wrote on social media. 'She went outside to get pancakes her grandmother made for her and never returned back in to the church. She was 18, she just graduated high school. Now her killer is just out here.' Police are now calling for the community's help to find Antonio Treyvonne Green, who is charged with the shooting of Sims.
