Stealth bomber over Saratok? Police investigate authenticity of image

Reddit user 'Anubiroz' posted the image, saying it was taken by a friend in the afternoon and showed a shape that looked a bit suspicious 'for a kite or a drone.' KUCHING (July 15): Police are investigating the authenticity of an image claimed to be a Northrop B-2 Spirit stealth bomber aircraft flying over Saratok, said Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie. In a statement today, he said the investigation aims to determine the authenticity of the image, the exact location where it was captured, the identity of the individual who uploaded it, and the intent behind its circulation. 'Initial observations suggest the image resembles a flying B-2 bomber aircraft, although its authenticity has yet to be verified,' he added. He said the Saratok District Police Headquarters (IPD Saratok), in collaboration with other authorities including the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), is investigating the possibility of an airspace violation or deliberate dissemination of false information that could incite public alarm. 'The police will not compromise with any party that spreads false information or causes public unease through social media platforms,' he added. Mathew advised the public to refrain from speculating or sharing the image on social media platforms. He added that any action involving the dissemination of false information may be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. The police also urged individuals with further information to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the Saratok district police chief directly at 012-8854849. The image was posted by Reddit user 'Anubiroz', who said it was taken by a friend in the afternoon and showed a shape that looked a bit suspicious 'for a kite or a drone.' 'Taken by a friend near his long house at Saratok in the afternoon… Zoom in… does it look like a kite or a stealth bomber. He said it made a swish sound.. Hmmmm. Looks kinda sus [sic]for a kite or a drone. Any ideas?' Anubiroz wrote on Reddit. Another user, 'Monsta_Owl', commented that it looked like a 'B2 bomber by the looks of it,' a view echoed by several others in the thread. However, several news outlets have since debunked the claim, citing CAAM's confirmation that there was no record of any flight activity resembling a stealth bomber in the area. Some commenters speculated that the object was likely a miniature remote-controlled (RC) model of the stealth bomber. image Mathew Manggie police Saratok stealth bomber

Speculation over 'stealth bomber' sighting in Saratok debunked

The photo, which was posted on Reddit, has since sparked plenty of speculation online. SARATOK (July 14): A photo posted on the r/Malaysia subreddit has stirred speculation over what appears to be a sighting of a Northrop B-2 Spirit stealth bomber flying over Saratok. Reddit user 'Anubiroz' , who posted the image, claimed that it was taken by the user's friend in the afternoon, showing a shape that resembles the American stealth bomber aircraft. The Reddit user then questioned whether the shape resembled a kite or a stealth plane, adding that, according to the user's friend, the object made a 'swish' sound. However, several news outlets have since debunked the claim, citing the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), which confirmed that there was no record of any flight activity resembling a stealth bomber in the area. Some commenters suggested that the object was likely a miniature remote-controlled (RC) model of the stealth bomber. A military source, when contacted by The Borneo Post, also expressed skepticism after examining the photo. 'Logically, given that altitude, it doesn't make sense to clearly see such a large aircraft – you can even see the trees in the picture,' the source said. The Northrop B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, operated by the United States Air Force, is a long-range stealth aircraft capable of deploying conventional and nuclear weapons while evading radar detection. Operational since the 1990s, the bomber was recently used in precision strikes on Iran in 2025. debunked lead Reddit Saratok stealth bomber
