RLD pushes for Brahmin welfare board in Uttar Pradesh

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (June 29, 2025) demanded for the formation of a Brahmin welfare board in the State for the upliftment of the community. Criticising certain alleged nefarious elements for targeting the community, the RLD National Secretary Anupam Mishra added a comprehensive survey should be conducted to assess the socio-economic condition of the Brahmin community, forming the basis for a concrete policy. 'The Brahmin community has historically made a vital contribution to the cultural, educational, religious, and administrative growth of the State. Yet, in the current times, the community too is grappling with a range of socio-economic challenges. Certain nefarious elements are targeting the community like the case we saw in Etawah. There is a pressing need for targeted support to economically weaker sections within the Brahmin community, especially in the fields of education, healthcare, employment, and social empowerment. Therefore, I believe that the establishment of a Brahmin Welfare Board in Uttar Pradesh is the need of the hour,' told Mr. Mishra, to The Hindu. The RLD leader said he wrote a letter to U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath this week, pressing the demand highlighting that several States such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and more recently Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have already established dedicated boards or commissions for the welfare of Brahmins, which are actively implementing schemes to enhance the community's socio-economic condition. 'If the board is constituted, special schemes could be introduced for economically weaker Brahmin families, including scholarships, self-employment assistance, coaching support, and housing, apart from security and honorarium schemes for temple priests and Vedic scholars,' added Mr. Mishra. The demand holds significance in the light of various social organisations pressing their community issues amid widening caste centric divide.

Tech firms embrace agentic AI, drives faster code transformation

Tech companies are evaluating the benefits of deploying AI agents to augment developer productivity while broadening their GenAI implementation. These intelligent systems are being utilised across diverse functions, spanning from programming to systems transfer. Anupam Mishra, director of Developer Programs, AWS India and South Asia, said that these agents are successfully executing moderate-complexity coding assignments. Their functionalities extend to test case creation, documentation generation, security flaw detection, and solution development. At the recent AWS Summit Bengaluru 2025, Mishra informed TOI that his AWS teams achieved four times faster migration from .NET (pronounced dot net ) to Linux while working with clients. The cloud services company's product demonstrated an 83% quicker conversion of older Java scripts to newer versions for their client Persistent Systems. "We have a case study where several teams converted their Java code from older versions to newer versions. Amazon developers saved 4,500 years of manual work and $260 million annually from performance improvements by using our Amazon Q Developer Agent for code transformation to migrate over 30,000 applications from Java 8 or 11 to Java 17," he said. Mishra said the average time to upgrade an application to Java 17 plummeted from typically 50 developer days to just a few hours. "In under six months, Amazon upgraded more than 50% of its production Java systems to modernised Java versions at a fraction of the usual time and effort. Amazon developers shipped 79% of the auto-generated code reviews without any additional changes. As we use AI extensively, mundane tasks like writing test scripts will be taken away from the coder," Mishra said. Arun Parameswaran, EVP & MD of sales at Salesforce South Asia, said that agents generate 30% of code, expected to reach 50% by year-end. Their AI product for creating autonomous AI agents achieved 93% accuracy for a European airline client. For Salesforce's helpline, agents handle 84% of queries, with escalations reduced by half. Their CodeGenie model has processed over 7 million code lines, addressed 500,000 developer queries, and saved 30,000 monthly hours, enhancing developer efficiency and reducing costs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Cognizant earlier reported that agents write 20% of code, with plans to increase this proportion whilst passing AI-derived cost benefits to customers. US-based Constellation Research's principal analyst Ray Wang indicates that with agentic AI , code can be written using 20% of developers, achieving 50% higher productivity, while testing requires 40% fewer personnel. "We are seeing fully automated software development life cycles. In a world of exponential efficiency, IT services startups are delivering $1 million revenue per employee today and expect $5 million in 3 years," Wang said. IBM, in its proxy filing, said it achieved over $3.5 billion in annual productivity run-rate savings since 2022. Speaking at the IBM Think 2025 event in the US last week, its CEO Arvind Krishna said that in the long run, 'productivity is everything' and there is an 'insane need to go fast'. That is where agents come into play. According to Krishna, IBM's AI products Spyre and Telum, when used to detect fraud in financial transactions, could save $190 billion. Nasscom's recent GenAI report highlighted India's tech industry leading in agentic AI readiness, from vertical solutions in legal or pharmacovigilance processes to multiple platform-based use cases. 1 2 Lucknow: The Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), a constituent of the BJP-led NDA , is poised to chart its strategic course for the upcoming elections — specifically the forthcoming panchayat polls and the 2027 UP assembly elections — at the state executive meeting scheduled to be convened in Mathura later this month. RLD sources said that the meeting would see the party passing its political resolution, which would specifically underline its roadmap for the upcoming electoral battles in UP and beyond. Confirming the development, RLD national secretary Anupam Mishra said that the meeting would lay the groundwork for the augmentation of the organisational apparatus. "The final modalities of the meeting are being worked out," he said. Sources said that the party plans to hold the meeting on May 26. The meeting, he said, will be attended by all national and state office bearers who would give their suggestions and feedback regarding emerging poll scenarios and resulting strategies. With next year's rural local body elections in UP and subsequently the 2027 assembly elections on the horizon, the meeting signals RLD's focus on grassroots mobilisation and alliance recalibration, analysts said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like People Aged 50-85 With No Life Insurance Could Get This Reassured Get Quote Undo Organisational expansion and an enhanced membership drive are expected to be the central theme of the state executive meeting. This would essentially focus on expanding RLD's influence from its traditional west UP region to east UP. Mishra said that the party was working to expand its base to some of the key east UP districts in the recent past. The party is also expected to discuss strategies for expansion in other states, including poll-bound Bihar. Sources said that the party intends to broaden its grassroots presence by bringing in new members. This would be done by intensifying its outreach to youth, farmers and rural voters, which happen to be electorally important for any political outfit. Alongside membership growth, the party plans to restructure its internal organisation — possibly appointing new office-bearers at district and block levels to improve local-level coordination, sources said. The move is expected to decentralise decision-making, empower local leadership and ensure more effective outreach in rural and semi-urban constituencies. Experts said that RLD's focus on independent organisational strength signals a desire to retain its identity while leveraging the alliance for broader electoral gains even as it remains part of the NDA. "A stronger organisational framework will not only prepare the party for the upcoming panchayat elections but also lay the groundwork for a credible performance in the 2027 UP assembly elections," said a senior RLD functionary.
