Dermot Mulroney Pulls The Cord On 14-Year Marriage With Money Move
Dermot Mulroney's marriage life is getting a serious shake-up. The actor has officially filed to end his 14-year marriage to his wife, Prima Apollinaare, and he is not leaving any stone unturned when it comes to finances. Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare tied the knot in 2008 and are parents to two daughters. The actor was previously married to actress Catherine Keener before their split in 2007. The American actor beelined it to court with one intention only- to call it quits on his union with Apollinaare. Mulroney also requested that the court order his estranged wife to pay him spousal support, but he wants to prevent her from requesting such support from him. The TV star reportedly filled in the blanks for the standard dissolution of marriage. He is currently sharing custody of their two minor kids with his estranged wife. However, TMZ reports that child support and custody talks are lurking in the shadows of their divorce. As for their mailing address, the pair reportedly still shares the same Sherman Oaks address. When the singer and Mulroney initially met, she went by the name Tharita Cutulle. According to PEOPLE, by 2015, the songwriter filed to change her name to Prima Apollinaare officially. She refused to disclose her reason for this name change, but her estranged husband seemingly got with the program when he addressed his estranged wife by her new name, "Prima," in various interviews. In their professional life, Apollinaare and her ex have collaborated on a few visual projects together. The singer was also listed as a producing partner for Mulroney's 2010 biopic, which he directed. The former couple also shares a familiar sense of humor. For Mulroney, his first name always poses a problem for people, as they usually misspell or mispronounce it. Although Mulroney won hearts for his acting prowess, he carried a burning passion for making music, just like his estranged wife. Apollinaare began her career as a solo artist in 2017 and released the music video for her debut single, "Stand Up for Love," on YouTube in December of that year. Since then, Apollinaare has added one album, two EPs, and several singles to her music catalog on Spotify. Mulroney has tried his hand at music and even succeeded while at it. In 2023, the actor spoke about his reality as a professional cellist who had performed in an orchestra for several film projects. His resume includes "Planet of the Apes" and a few movies from the "Mission Impossible" franchise. The actor starred in the 1997 flick "My Best Friend's Wedding" alongside Julia Roberts, Rupert Everett, and Cameron Diaz. While the movie performed well at the box office, Mulroney claimed it spelled doom for his career for a year. Hollywood Reporter shared that the actor confessed he was waiting for the big roles to come his way due to the movie's popularity, but nothing materialized for a long time. "I chalked it up to me being so tiny on the poster, the little guy on the cake. I thought, gosh, you guys, if you'd made me a little bigger, maybe I could have gotten a job," Mulroney explained his coping mechanism for that period in his life. The star eventually bounced back from his trying time and went on to play more roles in other big projects. The 61-year-old began his illustrious acting career in the 1980, making his mark with movies such as "Young Guns," "Longtime Companion," and "Where The Day Takes You." His role in "My Best Friend's Wedding" introduced him to a broader audience and established him as a figure in Hollywood. He subsequently appeared in other projects such as "About Schmidt" and "Zodiac," among others. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category for his role in "August: Osage County" in 2013. In 1992, the actor won the Best Actor Award for his role in "Where The Day Takes You" at the Seattle International Film Festival. Will Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare's divorce get messy?

Dermot Mulroney, wife Prima Apollinaare to divorce after nearly 15 years of marriage
After nearly a decade and a half of marriage, Dermot Mulroney is calling it quits with wife Prima Apollinaare. The "My Best Friend's Wedding" star, 61, filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 23, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY. Mulroney, who married singer-actress Apollinaare in December 2010, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. The former couple's date of separation was not disclosed in the filing. Mulroney and Apollinaare share two children: daughters Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15. Mulroney also has a son, 26-year-old Clyde Keener Mulroney, from his previous marriage to actress Catherine Keener, whom he divorced in 2007. According to a representative, Mulroney and Apollinaare declined to comment on the legal proceeding when reached for comment by USA TODAY. Mulroney is requesting joint physical and legal custody for his children with Apollinaare. Additionally, the actor is requesting spousal support of an undetermined amount and asked the court to deny support payments for his estranged wife. The pair's divorce comes after a busy 2024 for Apollinaare, an Italian Argentine musician born and raised in Italy. The singer released an album, titled "22," as well as the singles "Strawberry," "Slow Mo" and "I Want You." Her latest musical outing, the single "The Devil is Scared," was released in April. I "got into music since I was born," Apollinaare told record label Lost in the Manor in a March 2023 interview. "My mom is a singer. My dad played trumpet and piano." Mulroney, an actor best known for his roles in "Young Guns," "The Wedding Date" and the Julia Roberts-starring "My Best Friend's Wedding," is a musician in his own right. Mulroney has played the cello professionally for years, including an appearance on Melissa Etheridge's 1992 album "Never Enough." "I play the cello, which is definitely sexy," Mulroney told People magazine in 2005 for its Sexiest Man Alive issue. "It's a big piece of vibrating wood between your knees. And the sound is just beautiful." As a songwriter, Mulroney said, "All (my songs) end up being about me, sort of happy, sad, with a narrative arc."
