Samay Raina blames parents for letting them watch his content; says, 'If children that young are watching me, then their parents have failed"
Samay Raina has been making headlines since his India's Got Latent controversy. The comedian has now made a comeback and has opened up about his work, things that went downhill for him recently since the controversy, and more. He even reunited with Apoorva Mukhija recently and raised a toast with her. In a new podcast, Samay asked fellow podcaster Food Pharmer (Revant Himatsingka), 'Do you think someone like me should avoid drinking Coke and pretend to promote only water in public?' When Food Pharmer suggested that such behavior might impact kids aged 8 to 10, Samay responded bluntly, 'If children that young are watching me, then their parents have failed.' Later, Samay revealed how his parents were very strict with the kind of content he would watch while growing up. He said, 'When I was that age, my father would beat me if I watched television. I didn't watch television then. I never got influenced by all this and I really think he did a great job as a father. So the parents are the ones who need to be responsible and not me. I have to be myself. If I want to influence people to do something, it is just to be honest. ' The comedian has been in the news for his controversy on India's Got Latent. In the show, fellow influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija's controversial statements made headlines, after which several FIRs were filed against them.

Indians react to Karan Johar's new reality show, The Traitors. ‘Have some mercy on us'
'What is this ameero ka off season Splitsvilla?' wrote one Instagram user under Karan Johar's post. Another one wrote: 'The game we played on school trips and holidays is now basically a reality show.' The trailer has generated great interest among Indian viewers, who have all started sharing their two cents on social media. New Delhi: The highly-anticipated Indian version of reality show The Traitors will see Karan Johar play host to 20 contestants. The trailer, which dropped on Thursday, will see 'Rebel Kid' Apoorva Mukhija match her wit and cunning with actor Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra, Maheep Kapoor from Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, and other celebrities. People have also started naming their favourite contestants, such as influencer Apoorva Mukhija; others have compared it to the multiplayer online game 'Among Us'. Johar's post has garnered over 23,000 likes in five hours, and has 21,700 reshares so far. The Traitors The treachery and trickery will unfold at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The show will stream on Amazon Prime Video starting 12 June, with new episodes every Thursday at 8 pm. The three-minute trailer also features Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu, and television stars Jannat Zubair, Jasmin Bhasin, and Karan Kundrra. All the contestants have a spicy backstory. Mukhija's remarks on Samay Raina's YouTube show India's Got Latent with podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia triggered social media outrage and led to multiple FIRs. Uorfi Javed is known for her daring costumes and her own reality TV show, Follow Kar Lo Yaar (2024). The Traitors will also feature fashion commentator Sufi Motiwala, who is represented by Karan Johar's Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA). They all have a single objective: to win the Rs 1 crore prize money after completing a series of physical and psychological missions. Players marked 'innocents' must find and eliminate the 'traitors' from among them, who will be secretly chosen at the beginning of the show by host Karan Johar. The reality show is based on the Dutch series De Verraders (2021), which has iterations in 30 countries. The American version is hosted by Alan Cumming and the British version by Claudia Winkleman. Game of trust, deception In the trailer, Karan Johar is dressed head-to-toe in a black, magician-like ensemble. Viewers are privy to snatches of contestants trying to figure out who the traitors are. In the clip, Uorfi Javed vows to shave her head if found to be a 'traitor', while rapper Raftaar, also a contestant on the show, says that he will 'stop rapping'. 'Yaha trust is rare, but dhoka everywhere (Trust is rare here, but deception is everywhere),' declares Johar. Some people, however, have criticised the Bollywood filmmaker for taking up the project. 'You'll do anything at this point to avoid directing a movie…who are you Riri? Wrote one Instagram user. Another one expressed disappointment at the content itself: 'Indians are fed up of seeing content like this! With the likes of Karan Johar and others! Same thing, old wine, new bottle. Have some mercy on us and give us good content.' (Edited by Zoya Bhatti)

Karan Johar Says ‘Traitors' Have Always Been Part Of His Life: ‘Who Else Can Host…'
Last Updated: The trailer of the reality series 'The Traitors' hosted by Karan Johar, was unveiled by the makers today. Filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to host The Traitors, the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed reality series. The trailer for the show was unveiled today, revealing a diverse lineup of celebrity contestants including Apoorva Mukhija, Uorfi Javed, Raj Kundra, and others. At the trailer launch event of The Traitors, Karan Johar shared that his first reaction upon being approached to host the show was shaped by his own experiences of being surrounded by 'traitors'. He felt that, given his familiarity with betrayals and traitors, he would be the perfect fit to lead a show like The Traitors. At the trailer launch, Karan Johar was asked what was the first thing that crossed his mind when he was approached to host the show. In response, he said, 'Traitors have always been a part of my life. We're all in an industry where trust is rare and dhokha is everywhere. One evening, Nikhil Madhok (Head of Originals at Prime Video India) came home and said, 'I have something exciting to tell you'. He said, 'It's a show called The Traitors and we want you to host it'. I was like, 'Who else but me can host a show called The Traitors?'" He said that he went and watched the international formats of the show, which are already 'cult' and hugely popular. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mamaraazzi (@mamaraazzi) 'I was absolutely enthralled, invested, engaged, and mesmerised by the sheer craziness of this supremely clever format. It was different from every other reality show that is on any kind of platform," he said. He said that The Traitors is different from other reality shows, and on doesn't need to be inauthentic. Whereas, he pointed out that in many reality shows, people cry when they don't feel like crying, laugh when they don't feel like laughing. 'But here, there's none of that. It's all actually real-time drama and you're reacting authentically. There's no put-on. Everyone is being an authentic self. You're really feeling betrayed. You're really feeling hurt. You're really feeling happy or empowered. You basically are the most authentic self of yourself — and I think that's what really excited me. It's absolutely raw," he said. List Of The Traitor Contestants The first season of the reality series 'The Traitors', will feature an explosive mix of 20 celebrities, including Anshula Kapoor, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourouzi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Janvi Gaur, Jasmin Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Lakshmi Manchu, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha, Raftaar, Raj Kundra, Sahil Salathia, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sufi Motiwala, and Uorfi Javed.
