Mariah Carey Keeps It Nice, Neat, ‘Sugar Sweet' on New Single with Shenseea & Kehlani: Stream It Now
Mariah Carey has cooked up another sweet fantasy with 'Sugar Sweet,' her latest single featuring Shenseea and Kehlani that dropped on Friday (July 25). 'Sugar Sweet' is the second single released ahead of Carey's 16th studio album Here For It All, which drops Sept. 26 via gamma. In June, she shared the lead single 'Type Dangerous,' as well as an accompanying remix EP featuring collaborations with Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Red Man; Big Sean; DJ Snake and Luísa Sonza. 'Type Dangerous,' which samples Eric B. & Rakim's 1986 track 'Eric B. Is President,' became her 50th Billboard Hot 100 hit, reaching No. 95. It also entered the top 10 of R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. Mimi said she was 'very excited' about 'Sugar Sweet' because 'it's very summery. I like the beat as well.' She also revealed that Here For It All will feature 11 or 12 songs, including 'some Mariah ballads.' Here For It All will arrive seven years after her last studio album, Caution. The 10-track project featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Slick Rick and Blood Orange, and Gunna. Mariah Carey has confirmed she's finished work on her new album. The Type Dangerous singer has been busy recording her upcoming 16th record — the follow-up to 2018's Caution — and she quoted her own 2005 song It's Like That to tease the new collection. Speaking to Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden at the new Apple Music Studios during a live broadcast celebrating the steamer's 10th anniversary, she said: "I'm trying not to tell too much about the new album. 'It's a special occasion/ Mimi's emancipation' — that's a lyric from one of my songs. "What is next? The album coming out. I don't wanna tell too much about it because I just don't want to reveal the whole thing. It's finished." However, she did confirm the album has 11 or 12 songs, including some ballads. She teased: "We got some Mariah ballads... A second single is coming soon. "I'm very excited about it. It's very summery. I like the beat as well." Last month, the All I Want For Christmas Is You hitmaker dropped new single Type Dangerous, which samples Eric B. and Rakim's 1986 song Eric B. Is President. During the live broadcast, she explained: "I've always loved Eric B. Is President. It wasn't something like, 'Oh, I'm gonna flip this' — I just wouldn't think of doing it. "But then we were in this restaurant in Aspen and they had different music on, and they played Eric B. Is President and I was like, 'Oh my gosh! I love this song!' "We ended up in the studio a couple months later and we did it." The new song came after recently revealed he'd been working on new music with Mariah. The 39-year-old singer-and-producer let the news slip while appearing on social media series Track Star — where guests try to identify mystery songs — and he correctly guessed her 1996 track Always Be My Baby. Anderson — who was wearing a T-shirt with Mariah's face — said: "This would be Mariah Carey. The Mariah Carey. Apple Music marks 10 years with new studio for artists, fans and the future of sound
CULVER CITY, Calif. -- As Apple Music turns 10 this year, the popular streaming service is celebrating a major power move: Apple Music Studios. The new studio, set to open in mid August, is a three-story, 15,000-square-foot creative playground in the Los Angeles area to help artists dream big and connect deeper with fans. There are two cutting-edge radio studios inside primed for spatial audio, live interviews, off-the-cuff convos and surprise performances. Just steps away sits a massive 4,000-square-foot soundstage that's ready to host everything from live sets, fan events and film-style shoots. The new studio is located in Culver City, which is home to other major entertainment companies like Sony Music, Amazon MGM and Amazon Music. The building housing the space was designed by architect Eric Owen Moss, who is known for creating some of the area's most distinctive and unconventional structures. For Apple Music, it's a bold move toward next era of music, sound and storytelling. 'It's the future of listening and enjoying music,' said Zane Lowe, global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1. He and Ebro Darden will kick off a weeklong celebration of Apple Music's 10th anniversary with a show on Monday focusing on the birth of Apple Music Radio. 'We're trying to create as many opportunities as possible to surprise and delight people with as much music across all different communities and parts of the world and the sonic landscape,' Lowe continued. 'We can create some moments that will excite fans and maybe make them stop looking or listening to other stuff for a minute. This will be a moment for them.' Apple's new studio will serve as the flagship for a global network of creative hubs, with additional locations coming soon to New York and London. They'll join Apple Music's expanding lineup of production spaces already in cities like Tokyo, Berlin, Paris and Nashville. The vision is for the new studio to become a creative sanctuary that fosters a deeper connections with artists and creators. The studio will feature a photo and social media lab, an edit suite and a green room to support real-time content creation. Private isolation booths will offer space for songwriting, podcasting and intimate one-on-one interviews. Throughout the corridors, curated images and artwork will celebrate iconic moments from Apple Music's past and present. 'We wanna make sure we create a platform for artists and creators of all kinds, whether you're a photographer, a filmmaker, songwriter, singer or guitarist,' said Oliver Schusser, the vice president of Apple Music and Beats. 'We want to create a space where we can record some extra content that gives people context.'
