Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Burna Boy, Rosé, and More Feature on ‘F1' Soundtrack

The spectacle of Formula 1 does not exist without the noise: the sound of rubber zipping over the track at 200 mph, the clatter of gravel as a car skids over a corner, the collective gasp of a crowd as a chassis crumples into a barrier — or another car — at unfathomable speed, and the pop of a champagne cork over a trophy. Now, following its success with the Oscar-, Golden Globe-, and Grammy-winning life-in-plastic soundtrack for Greta Gerwig's Barbie, Atlantic Records is looking to bring the energy of the racetrack to the big screen with a star-studded companion to Apple Original Films' F1. More from Rolling Stone Ed Sheeran Presses 'Play' on Upcoming Album With Nostalgic Single 'Old Phone' Don Toliver, Doja Cat Rev Up 'F1 the Movie' Soundtrack With 'Lose My Mind' Ed Sheeran Dumps Photos From Old Phone Before Dropping New Song 'Old Phone' Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Burna Boy, Raye, Tate McRae, Don Toliver, Madison Beer, Rosé, Tiësto, and Chris Stapleton are just some of the artists on F1 the Album. The soundtrack's 17 original songs will buttress Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem's high-speed international podium chase in theaters this summer. See the full lineup below. The album is produced and overseen by Grammy Award winner and Atlantic Records West Coast President Kevin Weaver, the producer of Barbie the Album, Twisters: The Album, and other soundtracks. The F1 companion LP will be available in full on June 27, the same day as the film's premiere. Atlantic Records and F1 will be counting down the film's release with weekly single drops — beginning with Wednesday's release of 'Lose My Mind,' a synth-heavy collaboration between Toliver and Doja that feels like cruising down a neon-illuminated avenue on a late-night drive. Which is exactly where we find Toliver in the single's accompanying music video. Directed by Christian Breslauer — of Lil Nas X's 'Industry Baby' fame — the video is a study in the anatomy of a Formula 1 car, a race suit, and Doja's engine grease-slicked body. Detail shots showcase the gold and black livery of the fictional car that Pitt and Idris will pilot in F1 — one that any real team on the track wouldn't hesitate to adopt. From Dom Dolla's moody electronica to Stapleton's roaring country to Peggy Gou's meditative Eurodance and Myke Towers' lowrider-worthy reggaeton, the F1 soundtrack charts a path that mirrors the seasonal race calendar's journey across the globe. Directed and produced by Joseph Kosinski alongside co-executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the film stars Pitt as washed-up 'greatest that never was' driver Sonny Hayes, who agrees to come out of retirement to help his friend and former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Bardem) save his struggling racing team, Apex Grand Prix. His new teammate, Joshua 'Noah' Pearce (Idris), is a rookie upstart with all the raw talent and none of the experience, and the two will battle for the checkered flag in a cutthroat sport where no one shares a podium — much less a championship. Formula 1 devotees will almost inevitably be aware of the film's development, given that major portions of it were filmed on site at major race tracks over the course of the 2023 and 2024 season. Formula 1's biggest names will also feature in the film. All 20 drivers of 2023, including six-time champion Lewis Hamilton (who is also a producer on the project), four-time champion Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, George Russell, Fernando Alonso, and Sergio 'Checo' Perez, will make appearances. Fan-favorite, former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner is also set to have a cameo. The first full trailer for F1, released in March, promises visual thrills that will put viewers who haven't had the pleasure of testing out a simulator closer to the track and the cars than ever before. High-speed overtakes, brutal collisions, and paddock drama combine for what is poised to be the blockbuster of the summer. 'The F1 movie is as authentic a racing movie as has ever been,' Hamilton said in a behind-the-scenes video released earlier this year. The film will be back on the real-world paddock this weekend at the Miami Grand Prix, where Atlantic Records and F1 will host a takeover featuring a replica of the film's Apex Grand Prix team, album previews, race simulators, and appearances by some of the stars and artists collaborating on the film. In F1's soundtrack, Atlantic Records promises a high-rpm joyride for the ages, and they have yet to build a car that can get us to premiere day fast enough. Track List 1. Outlander's Caitriona Balfe lands major new role after saying goodbye to Claire Fraser

Outlander star Caitriona Balfe has already lined up her next project after completing work on the acclaimed Starz series After bidding farewell to her beloved character Claire Fraser in Outlander, Caitriona Balfe has swiftly moved on to her next venture. The Irish star, who has graced our screens alongside Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser in the Starz hit series for a decade, is set to appear in the final season yet to be broadcast. ‌ Following the completion of Outlander's eighth season last year, Balfe has already made waves with her role in the Hollywood thriller The Amateur, featuring Rami Malek, which premiered in cinemas the previous month. ‌ Balfe's latest role will see her join the ensemble of Apple Original Films' Tenzing, a biopic chronicling the life of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, famed for his historic ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. Jennifer Peedom, known for her documentary Sherpa, which also delves into the same topic, directs the film. Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe are set to play New Zealand explorer Edmund Hillary and English expedition leader Colonel John Hunt, respectively, reports the Scottish Daily Express. In Tenzing, Balfe takes on the role of Jill Henderson, a friend of Tenzing who played a pivotal role in organising expeditions to Mount Everest. Deadline provides a glimpse into the film's narrative: "Tibetan born Tenzing Norgay, alongside New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary, both outsiders on a British Expedition, defied insurmountable odds to achieve what was once thought impossible, reaching the summit of the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest. "After six previous attempts, Tenzing risked everything for one final venture. He had to navigate treacherous politics and perilous weather as he embarked on the most significant climb of his life. ‌ "Through it all, he did so with humour, warmth, and generosity towards his fellow climbers, but also deep reverence and respect for the sacred Mother Goddess of his Mountain, Jomolungma." The film is being produced by the Oscar-winning See-Saw Films, celebrated for The King's Speech, while the script is in the hands of Oscar nominee Luke Davies, known for Lion. Balfe's fans from Outlander eager to delve into her other big-screen performances can recall her Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated role in Kenneth Branagh's esteemed period drama Belfast. ‌ Her career also includes roles opposite Christian Bale in the film Le Mans '66 (Ford v Ferrari), Orlando Bloom in The Cut and sharing the screen with George Clooney and Julia Roberts in Money Monster. ‌ Following the gripping seventh season finale of Outlander this past January, enthusiasts eagerly await the final chapter. The last season will draw from Diana Gabaldon's eighth novel, Written in My Own Heart's Blood, as well as elements of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. Gabaldon has recently announced that her blockbuster series will culminate with the tenth book, named A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out.

UAE: Brad Pitt starrer F1's trailer features Yas Island, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

A new cinematic trailer of F1 was released to the world last night. Starring Brad Pitt, Apple Original Films' F1 will be distributed in theatres globally beginning June 25, and in North America on June 27. With 29 days of production happening in Abu Dhabi at the world-famous Yas Marina Circuit, Zayed International Airport and twofour54 Studios at Yas Creative Hub, cast including Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem, along with an international production team, were supported by a local crew of 284 and the team at Epic Films, 15 young local interns and Abu Dhabi Film Commission under its rebate scheme. F1 is one of 170 major productions supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission since the introduction of the rebate in 2013. The movie hails from director/producer Joseph Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, seven-time FORMULA 1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton's Dawn Apollo Films banner, and Pitt's Plan B Entertainment. 'This trailer is a glimpse into our first partnership with Apple Original Films' F1, which is one of the most hotly anticipated releases of 2025. With scenes from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and closing fireworks and W Abu Dhabi, Yas Island in the trailer, we now look forward to seeing even more of Abu Dhabi's iconic locations on the big screen and also working with Apple Original Films in the future," Mohamed Dobay, acting director-general of Creative Media Authority said. 'It is always a moment of anticipatory emotion to see the cumulative efforts of so much of Abu Dhabi's talented film and production industry come to life in a trailer. Knowing all the behind-the-scenes details and the work which goes into bringing such incredible visions to life and having the opportunity to work with powerhouse cast and crew…seeing that all come together and knowing the feature release is only a few months away – it's not really something you can describe," Sameer Al Jaberi, head of Abu Dhabi Film Commission, said. The movie depicts the story of a man dubbed 'the greatest that never was,' Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was FORMULA 1's most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he's a nomadic racer-for-hire when he's approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to FORMULA 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He'll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny's past catches up with him and he finds that in FORMULA 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition—and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone. Made in collaboration with FORMULA 1, the film F1 is immersed in the exhilarating and cinematic world of FORMULA 1, the pinnacle of motorsport and was filmed during actual Grand Prix weekends around the world including the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The star-studded ensemble cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Writer Ehren Kruger penned the screenplay.

F1 film starring Brad Pitt to end in Abu Dhabi in 'spectacular' fashion

Abu Dhabi is where F1 will come to its 'spectacular' conclusion, the film's director Joseph Kosinski says. 'We end the film in Abu Dhabi, on this incredible track. That is just a spectacular way to end the film,' Kosinski says, speaking at an online launch event for the film's trailer. It isn't surprising that the film will draw to a close at Yas Marina Circuit. The track hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which has served as the final race of the F1 season annually since 2014, so it makes sense that the location is where the stakes in F1 are pushed to the metal. The Apple Original Films' title tells the fictional story of Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who was forced into retirement after a devastating crash. He is later convinced to return to the sport to mentor rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) for Apex Grand Prix. The fictional underdog team will seek to prove themselves against several of the motorsport's leading packs, including Ferrari, culminating in a high-octane finale at Yas Marina Circuit. We see a glimpse of the final race in the trailer, at just past the midway point, with cars flying past advertisements that read Etihad. The circuit's teal-coloured shoulder lanes are also visible. The scene is potent with adrenalin, alternating between wider shots and gripping first-person perspectives. Even in the trailer, the scene is informed by a sense of realism that Kosinski says sets the film apart from other motorsports titles. The film aims to 'capture the speed of the sport,' he says. However, the authenticity that Kosinski sought, required both technological developments and input from those who intimately know the world of Formula One racing. 'The first thing I did was I reached out to Lewis Hamilton,' Kosinski says. 'He lives that sport every day. He's one of the greatest of all time and I asked him to be my partner on making this film.' The director also sought the input of Toto Wolff, the team principal and chief executive of Mercedes in Formula One, who suggested using real race cars for the film, instead of trying to make a 'movie car fast enough'. 'We actually bought six F2 cars, and worked with Mercedes AMG, the Formula One team and their engineers to build real race cars that could carry our camera equipment recorders and transmitters for making this film,' Kosinski says. 'So every time you see Brad or Damson driving in this movie, they're driving on their own in one of these real race cars on a real F1 track.' The actors underwent months of training to prepare them for the driver's seat. Yet, there was a lot of natural talent to work with, Kosinski says, particularly in Pitt's case. "Brad had a lot of just natural ability right from the start,' he says. 'He rides motorcycles, which I think has something to do with it, but he's just a very talented, naturally gifted driver.' Hamilton, who is a producer on F1, also expressed fascination for Pitt's driving talent. 'Watching Brad drive around speeds over 180 miles an hour was really impressive to see because it's not something you can just learn overnight,' Hamilton said during a pre-recorded speech at the trailer launch event. 'The dedication and the focus that Brad put into this process has been amazing to witness.' However, while it is one thing to build and drive a car to Formula One speeds, it is another thing entirely to be able capture it on camera. Luckily, Kosinski had some know-how in filming objects moving at high speeds, particularly with his work on Top Gun: Maverick. However, fighter pilots may have been simpler to film than the drama and adrenalin in an F1 cockpit. 'The big challenge was just the camera system itself,' Kosinski says. 'We had to develop a brand new camera system, taking everything we learned on Top Gun: Maverick and pushing it much further. You can't put 60 pounds of gear onto a race car and expect it's going to perform the same way. We took those Top Gun cameras and we worked closely with Sony, sizing them down to something about a quarter of the size. And then on top of that, something I really wanted to do on this film was actually be able to operate and move the cameras while we were shooting, so we have motorised mounts on the car as well. So much research and technology and development went into just being able to roll a frame of footage, in addition to the training for the actors and the logistics of shooting at a real race.' That is right – the driving scenes in F1 were all filmed during real Formula One races – or at least in between them. It wasn't enough to just film at the actual racing circuits, Kosinski says, but it was imperative to shoot during race weekends, where the setting 'becomes this whole different world. Like a traveling circus'. The film was shot over three different periods, wrapping production in December at Yas Marina Circuit during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. 'We couldn't just shoot at the track without the race going on. It would've been the wrong dynamic,' Kosinski says. 'We were actually there on race weekend with hundreds of thousands of people watching us finding these time slots between practice and qualifying, which Formula One graciously afforded us. "We'd get these 10 or 15 minute slots where we'd have to have Brad and Damson ready in the cars, warmed up with hot tires ready to go, and as soon as practice ended, they would pull out onto the track,' Kosinski says. 'We'd have 24 to 30 cameras ready, rolling, and I'd have to shoot these scenes in these very short, intense, high-speed windows.' All these elements have been incorporated with the aim of pushing the envelope of motorsports films. To capture the grit and thrill of a Formula One race as authentically as possible, and to deliver a moving story that, Kosinski says, resonates on a universal level, with themes of "friendship, teamwork, sacrifice and redemption". Or, as Hamilton put it: 'Brad Pitt, speed, thrills, an epic underdog story, drama, humor and a little bit of romance. This film has got it all.' F1 is set to be released in theatres across the world on June 25
