PM: The Arab and Development Summits reflected Iraq's strength and role
PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani met on Saturday a delegation of Arab media professionals who participated in the 4th Arab Media Conference, held in Baghdad last week. Al-Sudani emphasized "the essential role of responsible and objective media in conveying facts to the public, especially concerning confronting challenges." "Iraq is witnessing a qualitative shift across various aspects of life, public services, and development," he noted. He also highlighted "the country's substantial efforts in launching strategic projects aimed at strengthening the national economy and achieving comprehensive integration, alongside ongoing infrastructure development and sustainable growth across all sectors." "These advancements reaffirm Iraq's central and leading role in the region and its expanding engagement on the global stage," he pointed out, stressing that "the outcomes of both the Arab Summit and the Arab Development Summit, recently held in Baghdad, reflected Iraq's strength and its capacity to shape regional and international solutions." Al-Sudani underscored "Iraq's growing stature serves as a pillar of strength for the Arab world, promoting regional stability, development, and shared interests, while expanding opportunities for deeper integration with neighboring Arab nations." PM Al-Sudani paid "solemn tribute to the martyrs of the press who lost their lives during the aggression on Gaza and southern Lebanon," honoring "the sacrifices they made in exposing the suffering of the Palestinian people and bringing to light the crimes of genocide committed against them." In turn, the visiting Arab media delegation extended its "congratulations to the Prime Minister on the successful hosting of the two summits in Baghdad, " commending "the rapid progress Iraq is achieving across multiple sectors." They praised the country's ongoing reconstruction and development drive, describing it as a 'transformative chapter' in Iraq's modern journey.

Egypt: Solidarity to achieve Arab interests is necessary
INA - BAGHDAD Egyptian Planning Minister Rania Al-Mashat stressed on Saturday the necessity of solidarity to achieve Arab interests. "There is a need to strengthen Arab action to resolve crises," said Al-Mashat in her speech at the Arab Development Summit - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. She noted, "Economic integration will enhance the capacity of all countries. The economies of Arab countries will be dependent on unifying efforts and deepening the bonds of coordination."

Saudi Deputy FM: We support all development initiatives
INA - BAGHDAD Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed El Khereiji affirmed his country's support for all development initiatives on Saturday. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports all development initiatives. There is a need to strengthen the private sector," said El Khereiji in his speech at the Arab Development Summit - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. He added, "Trade exchange represents one of the pillars of economic integration among Arab countries."

Palestine: An agreement is important for the Development Summit's initiatives in Baghdad
INA - BAGHDAD Palestinian PM Mohammad Mustafa stressed "the importance of reaching an agreement to implement the initiatives of the Baghdad Development Summit" and reaching a common Arab position to implement the proposed initiatives. "Today we presented our comprehensive vision aimed at achieving peace through a ceasefire in Gaza, the entry of humanitarian aid, the withdrawal of occupation forces, the sheltering of displaced persons, and the reconstruction of the Strip," said Mustafa in his speech at the Arab Development Summit - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Qatar takes part in economic, social council meet in Iraq
Tribune News Network Doha Dr Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, deputy undersecretary for economic affairs at the Ministry of Finance, headed the delegation of Qatar participating in the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level, in preparation for the Arab Development Summit. The meeting was held in Baghdad, Iraq. The agenda of this session includes a number of important items, such as the review of the Secretary-General's report on joint Arab economic and social development efforts, support for the development needs plan and infrastructure projects in Yemen, a project to support and shelter families displaced by war within the Palestinian territories, developments regarding the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the Arab Customs Union, in addition to Arab preparations for the Second World Summit for Social Development, which is scheduled to be hosted in Doha in November 2025. Other economic and social issues are also included on the agenda. It is worth noting that the meeting serves as a preparatory step for the Development Summit scheduled to be held on 17 May 2025 in Iraq.
