Oman joins Arab-Asian audit talks in Baku
Muscat – Oman took part in the first joint meeting between Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) and Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) held in Baku, Azerbaijan from July 18 to 19.
The Omani delegation was led by Zahra bint Mohammed Redha al Lawati, Deputy Chairperson for Supervision of Institutions, Investments and Companies at State Audit Institution.
Presentations were made by several committees at the meeting, including those for Knowledge Building, Capacity Building, Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Institutional Development. Each reviewed their assigned responsibilities and proposed ways to enhance cooperation between ARABOSAI and ASOSAI.
Participants also shared experiences of using audit practices to respond to climate change and explored the use of artificial intelligence in audit work. The discussions included initiatives related to green infrastructure.
Oman's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting international efforts in strengthening oversight and accountability, while contributing to the exchange of expertise with peer institutions.
The engagement was in line with best practices promoted by International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.
