PM's Advisor: The Arab Media Conference Reflects the Iraqi Media Network's Success in Strengthening Arab Cooperation

Baghdad – INA Prime Minister's Advisor Hussein Allawi affirmed on Thursday that holding the Fourth Arab Media Conference in Baghdad reflects the success of the Iraqi Media Network and its communication with Arab countries and corresponding official media institutions. He pointed out that the Iraqi Media Network promotes the country's tourism and historical heritage to promote stability and support the country's tourism sector. Allawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Following the success of the Arab, economic, and development summits hosted by Baghdad, there is now significant success being capitalized on by Iraqi state institutions, most notably the Iraqi Media Network by holding the Fourth Arab Media Conference in cooperation with the Arab Broadcasting Union." He explained that "holding this conference demonstrates the success of the Iraqi Media Network's work and its communication with Arab countries and official media networks and institutions in Arab countries." He added, "The conference is part of the Iraqi Media Network's efforts to discuss recent developments in the media world, Iraqi-Arab media cooperation, and the paths of media partnership in Arab programs and policies. It also addresses challenges on social media, combats extremism and violence, and other challenges facing Arab public opinion." He pointed out that "the conference discusses partnerships in shaping Arab public opinion through joint programs and training, women's empowerment, and support for young people working in the media sector, both in Iraq and in Arab countries. It also includes initiatives that focus on positive media images, improving content on social media, developing programs, and addressing public opinion in the Arab world." Regarding the conference's coincidence with the announcement of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital, Allawi explained, "This coincidence is very important and comes within the framework of marketing stability and the state's support for the tourism sector." He noted that "the selection of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital represents an important milestone." He continued, "The Iraqi Media Network has worked to market and promote tourism facilities and the great historical heritage that spans seven thousand years," noting that "Iraq has been able to transform security challenges into a major opportunity after the victory of our armed forces over terrorist organizations."

The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to support the sectors of culture, tourism, and antiquities, highlighting their vital role in society. He also noted the growing relations between Iraq and Qatar across various fields, including the cultural domain.' The Prime Minister stressed,' the role of culture in development and in strengthening national identity, as well as the significance of mutual cultural events in fostering ties among brotherly and friendly nations. He praised the Iraqi Cultural Week held in Doha two months ago and directed that all necessary support be provided for hosting the upcoming Qatari Cultural Week in Baghdad.' For his part, the Qatari Minister of Culture conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Qatar to Prime Minister Al-Sudani and affirmed Qatar's keenness to deepen cooperation with Iraq. He also praised the Prime Minister's efforts in promoting comprehensive development and supporting culture, noting that Baghdad's selection as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025 marks a key milestone in advancing cultural collaboration.

Baghdad-INA The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, announced today, Thursday, that great strides have been made in recovering Iraq's stolen and smuggled antiquities. Al-Badrani said during the celebration of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital, which was organized by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), and attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We meet to say the most beautiful phrases about Baghdad, the enchantress of the world, as Baghdad is present in hearts and thoughts and all books and poems, as it is the mother of poetry and thought, and there is no limit to the creators who lived in Baghdad, as it was intended by everyone who wanted to acquire knowledge, literature and its various specializations and sciences," indicating that "the Baghdad School was unique in jurisprudence, language, literature, readings and maqam." He added that "the government has taken it upon itself in this formation headed by Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, to remove the dust from two full decades, as the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities has achieved great and known steps and we were able to recover our stolen and smuggled antiquities, as thousands of antiquities were returned to Baghdad because it is the true identity of any country." He continued that "when we enter international museums, we find from our Iraqi antiquities what enhances the value of the museum and raises its scientific and archaeological level and it is said in it from the lands of Akkad, Sumer, Babylon and Assyria, and here Baghdad is the university of all these civilizations." He pointed out that "looking at the Islamic civilization, we find al-Mustansiriya, the Abbasid Palace and the entire Baghdad Plain area, many of which we have rebuilt with the efforts of the Prime Minister and his team, and we have also started the third phase of rehabilitating Rashid Street."
