Manga Productions launches Saudi Dialects Dubbing Contest
The contest invites participants to dub selected clips from Asateer2: Future's Folktales, an internationally acclaimed anime series that has been broadcast across five continents and streamed on eight major platforms, accumulating over 150m views. The series, which recently won the Saudi Media Forum Award for Best Media and Communication Campaign, serves as the foundation for a weekly digital challenge that encourages users to engage through social media by showcasing different Saudi dialects.
Participants will receive professional training to refine their voice acting skills, with the top performers offered potential roles in upcoming projects by Manga Productions. Creative Director Sara Oulddaddah noted that the contest underscores the company's commitment to nurturing Saudi talent and using storytelling to reflect the Kingdom's diverse cultural heritage. She emphasised that Asateer2 was selected for its strong narrative and cultural depth, making it an ideal platform for aspiring voice actors to demonstrate their abilities.
Marketing and Communications Director Abdulaziz Almowani highlighted the contest as a major step in showcasing Saudi Arabia's cultural wealth and offering young creatives meaningful opportunities to express themselves through animation and voice work.
This new initiative builds on the success of last year's Arabic Dubbing Contest, which attracted more than 1,800 participants and reached over 15m viewers across the Arab world. That campaign culminated in a special event featuring celebrated voice actors such as Jihad Al-Atrash, Sanaa Bakr Younis, Suad Jawad and Ibrahim Al-Hassawi, all of whom lent their voices to Asateer2.
