Sarah Jessica Parker: Women don't flat line at 50 or 60
Sarah Jessica Parker wants to remind the public that women "don't flat line at 50 or 60". The 60-year-old actress has reprised the role of Carrie Bradshaw to star in the latest season of 'And Just Like That...', the 'Sex and the City' revival series, and Sarah is determined to spread an inspiring message through the TV show. She told Sky News: "You don't flat line at 50 or 60. "People are living pretty colourful, interesting, exciting lives and they have influence and authority. They're trying new things. They're leaving marriages. They're saying goodbye to kids. They're starting new jobs, they're leaving jobs, and they're getting married, they are widows, there's just endless amounts to talk about and it should be." Kristin Davis, her co-star, also hopes to challenge certain taboos and stereotypes for women in their 50s and 60s. The 60-year-old actress actually thinks there should be more shows like 'And Just Like That...' on TV. She said: "It is insane that there aren't more shows like us, you know? I'm hoping that there will be. "It's very interesting that somehow women, especially at a certain age, you're just supposed to just vanish. I don't know where we're supposed to be and that just makes no sense." Meanwhile, Kristin recently confessed that she hates to be "out of sync" with Sarah. The actress has learned some important life lessons from her 'Sex and the City' co-star, explaining that she always has to "check in" with the actress before a red-carpet event. During an episode of her 'Are You a Charlotte?' podcast, Kristin explained: "I need to know what Sarah Jessica's gonna wear to our different events, because she might be wearing something that is, like, way dressier than what I pictured in my mind, and I hate to be out of sync with her." Kristin - who plays Charlotte York in 'And Just Like That...' - actually loves getting "dressed up" for work. She explained: "There's a part of me always, like, 'Oh my gosh, why do I have to dress up so much all the time?' But on the other hand, it's fun to dress up. "And in life, I really don't dress up at all. So when we haven't worked for a while, then we go back to work and we get to get in all the clothes, I love it so much, because I don't do it that much."

Sarah Jessica Parker Wanted To Quit ‘Sex and the City' Before It Even Aired
Have you ever watched an episode of Sex and the City and thought, 'I couldn't help but wonder, who else could have played Carrie Bradshaw?' Yeah, me neither. But maybe we should have because it turns out that Sarah Jessica Parker almost quit Sex and the City before the show even premiered. Sarah revealed the news during a recent appearance on Kristin Davis' podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, telling her that she seriously thought about backing out of what would become a career-defining show. 'When the show was picked up, I panicked. I was like, I can't be on a TV show. I don't think I'm suited for that life.' 'It also kind of depressed me. I think that it was the idea of doing the same thing over and over and over again,' she explained, adding that she liked being a 'journeyman' actor with the ability to move from project to project. After all, Sarah had already been working for over 15 years when Sex and the City premiered in 1998, and she was used to going from project to project, including film and theater. 'The idea of a television series meant that I couldn't do all those things. And it just kind of felt like somebody was, you know, putting their hand over my mouth or something,' she said. The feeling was so strong that the actor actually went to her agents to ask if she could get out of the show entirely. Her agents convinced her to give the show a real try, telling her, 'Do it for a year, and if you don't want to do it anymore, we won't do it.' Thankfully, Sarah didn't even need an entire season to convince her. All it took was meeting costume designer Patricia Field. After that, Sarah said, Sex and the City 'went from being this oppressive idea to endless possibilities.' The rest, as they say, is history. 'I never looked back. And I was never not happy to be there. There was no place I would rather have been than on our set every single solitary day.' And it's a good thing she feels that way, considering it's over two decades later and she's still playing Carrie Bradshaw. The third season of And Just Like That... premieres May 29 on HBO. Kristin Davis takes fashion inspiration from Sarah Jessica Parker
Kristin Davis hates to be "out of sync" with Sarah Jessica Parker. The 60-year-old actress has learned some important life lessons from her 'Sex and the City' co-star, explaining that she always has to "check in" with the actress before a red-carpet event. "And in life, I really don't dress up at all. So when we haven't worked for a while, then we go back to work and we get to get in all the clothes, I love it so much, because I don't do it that much. And so I think it's a good thing to remember. Like, it can make you feel good to dress up." Meanwhile, Kristin previously admitted that she was unimpressed by the 'Sex and The City' pilot. The actress never imagined that the TV show would become so successful. Kristin said on the 'Are You A Charlotte?' podcast: "I was never a fan of the pilot. It didn't seem smooth. It seemed kind of choppy and hectic. "But I also feel my personal theory on pilots in general is that if they're too good - if the pilot is too formed - the show might not be good." Kristin also revealed that she was initially offered $5,000 to play a "recurring character" on the show. She shared: "One day, I'm in my trailer and she [a producer] knocks on my door and I opened it and she says, 'Oh, well, we have this paperwork we need you to fill out.' "And I was like, 'OK.' I take the paperwork and I look at it and it seems to be a new contract, but it's only two pages long, and I'm like, 'What is this?' And it says, 'You will be a recurring character and you will be paid $5,000.'"
