Kristin Davis hates to be "out of sync" with Sarah Jessica Parker.
The 60-year-old actress has learned some important life lessons from her 'Sex and the City' co-star, explaining that she always has to "check in" with the actress before a red-carpet event.
During the latest episode of her 'Are You a Charlotte?' podcast, Kristin explained: "I need to know what Sarah Jessica's gonna wear to our different events, because she might be wearing something that is, like, way dressier than what I pictured in my mind, and I hate to be out of sync with her."
Kristin - who played Charlotte York in 'Sex and the City' - actually loves getting "dressed up" for work.
The actress explained: "There's a part of me always, like, 'Oh my gosh, why do I have to dress up so much all the time?' But on the other hand, it's fun to dress up.
"And in life, I really don't dress up at all. So when we haven't worked for a while, then we go back to work and we get to get in all the clothes, I love it so much, because I don't do it that much. And so I think it's a good thing to remember. Like, it can make you feel good to dress up."
Meanwhile, Kristin previously admitted that she was unimpressed by the 'Sex and The City' pilot.
The actress never imagined that the TV show would become so successful.
Kristin said on the 'Are You A Charlotte?' podcast: "I was never a fan of the pilot. It didn't seem smooth. It seemed kind of choppy and hectic.
"But I also feel my personal theory on pilots in general is that if they're too good - if the pilot is too formed - the show might not be good."
Kristin also revealed that she was initially offered $5,000 to play a "recurring character" on the show.
She shared: "One day, I'm in my trailer and she [a producer] knocks on my door and I opened it and she says, 'Oh, well, we have this paperwork we need you to fill out.'
"And I was like, 'OK.' I take the paperwork and I look at it and it seems to be a new contract, but it's only two pages long, and I'm like, 'What is this?' And it says, 'You will be a recurring character and you will be paid $5,000.'"

And Just Like That moment that ‘shocked' Sarah Jessica Parker

Che Diaz has officially left the chat — and not everyone is sad about it. As And Just Like That season three kicks off, longtime Sex and the City fans have noticed one major absence: Sara Ramirez's Che Diaz, the non-binary stand-up comic who had a high-profile romance with Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) in the show's first two seasons. Che was one of the reboot's most divisive characters, sparking thinkpieces, memes, and heated debates. Critics often slammed the character as a clunky attempt at queerness, calling Che a 'caricature' and a symbol of the show's occasionally awkward efforts to modernise. Now, series star and executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker is addressing the controversy for the first time — and she admits the backlash caught her completely off guard. 'A friend of mine brought it up to me, and it's like: 'What are you talking about?' And he said: 'Yeah, there's all this conversation,'' Parker told The Guardian in a new interview. 'I've been an actor for 50 years, and I've almost never paid attention to peripheral chatter. I loved working with them.' Parker also reflected on her own character Carrie Bradshaw and the way audiences have responded to her over the years — especially in comparison to beloved TV 'bad boys' like Tony Soprano. 'I prefer that to any other description of her, because it allows her to be as male as the men have been. I love The Sopranos so much, and I look at all the times [Tony] was unlawful, and we loved him. Carrie has an affair and everybody falls apart,' she said. 'An antihero, to me, is somebody that's not behaving in conventional ways, and she hasn't ever … A lot of people love her too, though!' Sex and the City ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and spawned two feature films. And Just Like That premiered in 2021 and is currently streaming its third season.

Good health is key to youthful-looking skin, says Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari's health-conscious lifestyle is the key to her youthful-looking skin. The 38-year-old reality star has taken to social media to rubbish suggestions that she uses Botox, with Kristin citing her healthy lifestyle as the secret to her good looks. Alongside a makeup-free selfie, Kristin said on Instagram: "OK guys you can see every line and pore in this picture. Zero makeup here except a little mascara. "I've said 500 times that I don't do Botox and people still don't believe me but I think it's VERY obvious that I don't if you watch me talk on TV or in an interview. My face MOVES… a lot. And you can see the lines on my forehead here. (sic)" Kristin subsequently revealed that she undergoes Platelet-Rich Fibrin, an injectable skincare treatment, and microneedling every few weeks, as part of her skincare routine. She shared: "PRF has changed under my eyes. I also do it around my mouth AND inject my lips. (sic)" Despite this, Kristin insisted that exercise and a healthy diet are the keys to youthful-looking skin. She said: "I got my gut, vitamin levels, hormones etc etc balanced and think this makes a massive difference. The skin is a direct reflection of your HEALTH. (sIc)" Meanwhile, Kristin recently admitted that Brandon Sklenar is her "biggest celebrity crush". The 'Very Cavallari' star recalled "freaking out" when she met the 34-year-old actor at Stagecoach, the country music festival held in California. Speaking on the Let's Be Honest podcast, Kristin shared: "I wish this moment was not so blurry for me, but all of a sudden, I am able to pick out Brandon Sklennar, and he's with a couple guys, I'm pretty sure he had his hood over his head, like I f****** clocked him and I go, 'Oh my God, are you Brandon?' I think I said his last name wrong. "I was like, 'Are you Brandon Sklenar?' Total fangirl moment. I like f****** attacked him." Kristin recalled being overwhelmed with excitement when she met her celebrity crush for the first time. She shared: "I'm like, freaking out. And I said something to the effect of, like, 'You're my number one, you're my biggest celebrity crush.' And he shook my hand and he looked me in the eye and he said, 'Thank you.' And my life was made. I literally — I could die today and be a happy woman."

And Just Like That recap: A big thumbs-up to these guest stars

When she gathers the courage to ask out a cute guacamole server who also loves the series, the young woman breaks the news she's actually not queer. 'It's a TV show,' she says. 'I watch The Walking Dead, and I'm not a zombie.' Yeah! And just because I watch this, doesn't mean I, too, have forgotten how to interact with the world in a normal human way! Speaking of: the episode opens with what feels like a hallucination. Carrie Bradshaw skipping across the cobblestone streets of the Meatpacking District! In a hot dress! At night! With other people around! Samantha would be so proud. Lisette – the young party girl who's moved into Carrie's old apartment – asked to meet to give Carrie a gift. A giant clanking necklace with the numbers 245 welded onto it. Unfortunately, I don't think SJP saying '245 East 73rd St' is going to stop tourists crowding the pavement in front of 64 Perry Street – the West Village facade where they shot the exteriors of her apartment – as much as its new owner would like them to. Before tossing her phone across the bar, Lisette bemoans that 'it's such a messed up time to be dating'. Carrie replies with a few quips and, without the thematic link the show once had via her voiceovers, that's about all we have to gain as far as modern relationship insights go. Loading I don't mean to be negative, really, but scenes like this and the montage of Seema 'hate-dating' men made me yearn for the Sex and the City approach, where funny anecdotes were always bookended by a conversation that needled at the core of why sexual relationships were tricky or fun or dark or twisted. Instead, Seema agrees for her boss to set her up with Sydney, a matchmaker played by Saturday Night Live legend Cheri Oteri. She's an advocate for getting rid of Seema's metallics and animal prints (hard disagree!) and toning down her honesty and entire personality. This show has a tendency to introduce characters with a lot of backstory then disappear them immediately. As grim as this Seema matchmaking storyline is, I pray this is not the end of Sydney; Oteri makes sense in this universe the same way Amy Sedaris and Candice Bergen do. The biggest finger in this episode is delivered by Aidan. After dictating – then deleting – texts out loud to him, Carrie's even more confused about the rules for their separation when he appears in their (?) apartment. Carrie's contractor is ripping out her entire, rat-infested courtyard, and she tells Aidan she's trying to look under everything else in her life. He sets new rules for them which seem to be: let's just keep in regular contact. But when he responds to a text about a vintage table she wants to buy, all he can spare for her is a thumbs down. I really – comma – really wish she'd be honest with him about her feelings because Miranda's right: obsessing over his text etiquette is beneath her. Before Carrie can continue writing her novel in the courtyard – where she quite literally said hello to a squirrel (please God can this woman smoke a cig or wear a bra in public or break into a church service again!!) – she has to get it re-designed by Adam, aka Logan Marshall-Green, who played Trey Atwood on The OC. He asks her the one fundamental question he has to understand new clients: 'What's your ultimate vision?' Not exactly a light ice-breaker. She deflects. She doesn't know. The slate is clean and who knows what comes next. If her manuscript is any indication, she'll be writing on it in Courier New font.
