After Blue Origin Debacle, Katy Perry Mocked For Her "Lifetimes Tour" Show: "This Is Embarrassing"
Days after her space venture was mocked, singer Katy Perry is now receiving flak from social media users for her Lifetimes Tour that kicked off in Mexico City on Wednesday (Apr 23). The Teenage Dream singer is being mocked for her cringeworthy choreography and awkward costumes, in addition to the dull performance. The concert was the first of a three-night residency at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, which marks the start of her world tour that comes in the backdrop of the release of her 2024 comeback album, 143. Several exceedingly uninspired moments from the show have gone viral on social media, raking up millions of views with the majority unimpressed by her performance. "I'm convinced when Katy Perry landed on the moon, she sent an alien back in her place," wrote one user, while another added: "Jesus. She did a better job pretending to be an astronaut than she does pretending to be a pop singer. This A third commented: "I just saw a video from this tour where she's like fighting a big HVAC-looking snake monster puppet on stage during "ET" with a two-sided lightsaber. It honestly looks like something a high school theatre production would put together and I am so perplexed." I'm convinced when Katy Perry landed on the moon she sent an alien back in her place — greg (@greg16676935420) April 25, 2025 When no amount of glitz, strobe lights, lasers, smoke, back up dancers, or skimpy costumes can mask how truly awful you are as a performer. — Five Times August (@FiveTimesAugust) April 25, 2025 For $333 you can buy a standing room only ticket to see astronaut Katy Perry on her Lifetimes Tour. — Dr. Jebra Faushay (@JebraFaushay) April 24, 2025 Perry's space venture Earlier this month, Ms Perry made headlines after she flew to space for 11 minutes as part of Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin crew, which included Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King. The star's tourism mission also included astronaut and bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn. The mission, however, came under fire from social media users and celebrities alike who felt the entire exercise was a massive waste of taste and money. Actor Olivia Munn said: "There are so many other things that are so important in the world right now. What's the point?" Model and actor Emily Ratajkowski also criticised this mission, describing the flight as "beyond parody." American fast food chain, Wendy's, responded to a report of Ms Perry's space mission with the comment, "Can we send her back?" Can we send her back — Wendy's (@Wendys) April 15, 2025 The popular fast-food chain didn't stop there. It unleashed a series of responses to multiple posts. On Ms Perry returning to Earth and kissing the ground, Wendy's referenced her 2008 hit song and wrote: "I kissed the ground and I liked it."

Katy Perry 's 'Lifetimes Tour' is a total embarrassment and the Internet can't stop laughing
ALBAWABA - Katy Perry's new tour launch left fans confused and disappointed. As evidenced by viral recordings of the pop star's 2025 tour kickoff on Wednesday night, which featured a significant amount of mediocre, low-effort dancing, Katy Perry may still be adjusting to Earth's gravity after little over a week in space. Perry's "Lifetimes Tour," which accompanied the release of her lackluster 2024 comeback album, 143, began with the performance, which was the start of a three-night engagement at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The act is a little cerebral, with a hazy plot based on a computer game about Perry, a "half-human, half-machine," facing off against an "all-powerful AI called the Mainframe," according to fan-uploaded video of the performance. MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - APRIL 23: Katy Perryfor Katy Perry/AFP More plot details, such as the fact that the Mainframe has stolen the world's butterflies and that dogs are turning away from humans in favor of cats, are revealed in a narrated exposition at the start of the show. However, despite all of the half-baked narrative, the stage show itself appears to have completely failed at the "cool dancing" component of any classic pop show. "Send her back to space!" Following Katy Perry's incredible "What was she thinking?" "Lifetimes Tour" debuted on Thursday night; many people on social media are expressing that. That cringe is real. When Katy Perry isn't too busy being an Astronaut or solving World Hunger she's on stage sharing her talents with the entire World…. April 25, 2025 The 40-year-old's dancing skills and performance were summed up nicely by one individual who tweeted, "Maybe instead of going to space, she should have been rehearsing her fight scene moves a little more." Naturally, Perry made headlines around the country last week when she boarded Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin voyage, which was the first all-female spaceflight. A source closer to Katy told People that she should apologize after being attacked by seemingly everyone, including Wendy's, which only served to further distance her from the internet and make her a target for more trolling. The "Fireworks" singer was ridiculed in another video that went viral right away for a set that seemed incredibly poor and cost-cutting. The video shows her running around with what appears to be a fake Star Wars lightsaber and fending off dancers dressed as ghosts. Let me tell you, it's really captivating! So Katy Perry's team thinks @Wendys should apologize for mocking her space trip… I'm sure they'll love my response 🤠 — Gunz (@TheGunzShow) April 18, 2025 Don't worry if that doesn't make sense; the crowd was also unaware of what was happening, as the former American Idol judge is still trending on social media for all the wrong reasons. The good news for fans is that many of them might not be affected by Katy's dull and ridiculous performance since they aren't attending the events. Following the pop singer's dismal "143" album release, which did worse in cinemas than Snow White, some gigs were still almost 50% unsold recently. I've heard pregnant hippopotamus's sing better than Katy Perry. Maybe she should stick to being an Astronaut. — Concerned Citizen (@BGatesIsaPyscho) April 25, 2025 All I know is that if Wendy decides to keep corresponding with Perry, they will have a TON of stuff, so I can't wait until whoever manages their social media accounts wakes up.

Katy Perry cancels Mexico shows due to venue construction issues
Katy Perry has cancelled two shows in Mexico because construction of the venue will not be completed in time. The 40-year- pop star had been due to take her 'Lifetimes Tour' to the city of Guadalajara on May 1 and 2 but it's now been confirmed the Arena Guadalajara venue will not be ready in time to host the concerts so they have been cancelled along with gigs by Carlos Rivera on April 25 and Intocable on April 26. Katy shared the news with fans in a post on Instagram, writing: "Sadly, I learned that the construction of Arena Guadalajara will not be complete for their scheduled shows next week, which includes mine on May 1 and 2. "Last week I sent my team to the Arena to make sure there wasn't anything we could do to make this happening but it was evident when they arrived that the venue was not ready or safe to receive my show or an audience. I wish I could fix this but it is beyond my control. "You guys mean the world to me and we have all been on such a beautiful journey together that I will be thinking about how I can create something special for the fans in Guadalajara in the future. I love you all." A statement from Zignia Live, the promoter and venue owner, added: "We seek to offer you shows with the quality and safety that you deserve, and although we have made our greatest effort together with our contractors and workers, we are not yet completely ready to receive you. "We will soon be ready to offer you the experience you expect and deserve." Katy is due to kick off the 'Lifetimes Tour' with three shows at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on April 23, 25 and 26 which will be followed by two concerts in Monterrey, Mexico on April 28 and 29 before she takes the tour to Houston, Texas on May 7. The trek will stop in cities across the US before heading to Australia in June. A second North American leg will take place in July and August before the shows go to South America, the UK and Europe with a final gig scheduled for December 7 in Abu Dhabi.

UFC Mexico Loses Huge Main Card Fight, Here's How It Affects The Event
Joe Pyfer's fight with Kelvin Gastelum is officially off the UFC Mexico card. The middleweight matchup was slated for the main card at Arena CDMX in Mexico City but was canceled due to an illness affecting Pyfer. He confirmed the information on his Instagram story. UFC officials confirmed the news and with no fighter on stabndby, there was no room to replace Pyfer. Pyfer had entered fight week with some momentum, having scored a KO win over Marc-André Barriault in June 2024. He was hoping to start a win streak, but the illness kept him out of action. The two men could be set to reschedule their fight for an upcoming card. If there is a spot available on a card over the next 60 days, I'd expect to see Pyfer-Gastelum added to that event. It's the kind of fight that has some juice for just about any card—even a pay-per-view. Gastelum has recently committed to staying at middleweight, which was a major lift off his back, and he has struggled to make welterweight in his career. Like Pyfer, he won his last fight, a unanimous decision win over Daniel Rodriguez in June 2024. The fight postponement could potentially be a major disruption for Gastelum as he attempts to embark on what figures to be his final opportunity to make a run at a UFC championship. Because Pyfer-Gastelum was set to be a main card fight, the UFC was forced to make an adjustment. In response, the promotion has elevated the fight between José Daniel Medina and Ateba Gautier to the featured prelim. Edgar Chairez vs. C.J. Vergara was elevated to the main card. The event still features a strong headliner: a flyweight battle between Brandon Moreno and Steve Erceg. There are huge stakes involved with the main event, as the loser could find themselves a long ways away from challenging for a title at 125 pounds. The co-main event between Manuel Torres and Drew Dober has some Fight of the Night potential. Gautier and David Martinez are also two hot prospects making their main roster debuts, so their fights are also intriguing. With those fights still on the card, and with a spirited Mexican crowd in attendance, there should be more than enough action for fans looking to tune in. Still, the absence of the Gastelum-Pyfer fight will be felt. Here is the updated UFC Mexico card. Follow along with the results of the event throughout the evening here.
