Fox Facing Mounting Pressure to Remove Tom Brady From Broadcast Booth

Fox Facing Mounting Pressure to Remove Tom Brady From Broadcast Booth originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady signed his 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox to work on the network's No. 1 broadcast team back in May 2022, no one seemed to have an issue with his new career choice. But after it was announced that Brady had purchased a minority ownership in the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2023, what many considered a pretty big conflict of interest suddenly arose. Brady's Raiders ownership had to undergo a vote of the rest of the league's owners, and he was given special rules to abide by in the broadcast booth that addressed those concerns head on. Why is Tom Brady under fire? After a recent video of Brady started circulating on social media, many fans believe that the 48-year-old shouldn't be allowed to call games on Fox given his clear bias. The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov posted a video of Brady decked out in Raiders gear, walking around the team's practice at training camp, prompting many fans to hit the comment section either demanding Brady be removed from Fox's broadcast booth or expressing their clear issue with him calling games as an owner. 'If Brady wants to be an owner then he needs to step away from the commentary booth,' one fan exclaimed. 'Cool. He should not be allowed to be an analyst on FOX,' remarked another fan. 'So this guy is gonna announce games?? Seems to be a conflict of interest. Just go be an owner bro,' a third fan scoffed. 'So he's no longer doing games on Fox, correct?' one user asked. 'The fact that he's allowed to call games in just unspeakable,' declared another user. 'Why is the minority owner of a team the color commentator on FOX's #1 broadcast team? I still don't understand this at all,' questioned one fan. 'Perfectly normal for him to be a network's #1 analyst. Perfectly normal,' another fan wrote. During the 2024 season, Brady called just two games that could fall under the conflict of interest umbrella — the Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, and the Chiefs vs. the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX (the Chiefs are the Raiders division rival). This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 3, 2025, where it first appeared.

Dolphins offensive lineman airlifted out of practice after suffering serious injury

The post Dolphins offensive lineman airlifted out of practice after suffering serious injury appeared first on ClutchPoints. Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Bayron Matos was airlifted from the practice field on Wednesday after sustaining a serious injury during the final moments of training camp practice. NFL insider Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team reported that Matos was transported via helicopter to a local medical center for further evaluation. According to Meirov, the second-year lineman is currently in stable condition. The Dolphins have not yet released specific details regarding the nature or severity of the injury. Dolphins' Bayron Matos sees NFL hopes put on hold after training camp injury Matos, 24, is a native of the Dominican Republic and joined the Dolphins organization in 2024 through the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Prior to football, he had a collegiate basketball career, playing at New Mexico before transferring to the University of South Florida. During his time at USF, Matos walked on to the football team and appeared in only 22 total snaps. However, his rare size and athleticism quickly drew attention. Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 313 pounds, Matos turned heads during pre-draft workouts when he ran a 4.88-second 40-yard dash, showcasing elite speed for his frame. Matos signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent and spent the entire 2024 season on Miami's practice squad. In January, he signed a reserve/future contract with the team and entered training camp looking to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster. The injury is a significant setback for a player who had been making strides in his development. The Dolphins have yet to issue a formal statement, though further updates on Matos' condition are expected in the coming days. Miami continues its preparations for the 2025 NFL season while monitoring Matos' recovery. Jaguars' OC Grant Udinski on what it's like working with Travis Hunter

On the latest episode of 'NFL Spotlight' with Ari Meirov, Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator discussed what it was like working with Travis Hunter, who is playing both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. "He's been an injection of energy into not just the offense, but I think the team," Udinski said. "What you see on TV of him dancing around or bringing the juice and all of that energy to practice, that is genuine. That's the real deal right there. Advertisement "He's a lot of fun to be around, not only because he brings that energy but because he is a football guy in the sense that he loves football, wants to be great, willing to work, wants to talk about things, wants to go over things." Since arriving in Jacksonville, Hunter has been in both the offensive and defensive meeting rooms, learning both playbooks and the terminology of each scheme. But on the practice field, most of Hunter's playing time up to this point has come at wide receiver. That was the plan from the start, and GM James Gladstone added recently that the team views cornerback as Hunter's more natural position. I would also add that the team likely wanted Hunter to get a jump start on what is a robust playbook under Liam Coen. Advertisement The next step for Hunter in his progression will be practicing on both offense and defense regularly during the same practice. For most of OTAs and minicamp, Hunter was either on offense or defense on a given day. Now, how exactly Coen and the Jaguars plan to divvy up those practice reps for Hunter remains to be seen. "Like Liam said," added Udinski, "I know he's mentioned it multiple times, he can run all day. So he's out there excited about practice, and he's practicing hard for the entire time he's practicing. That's exciting for me as a coach to be a part of that to let alone have a guy like that to get to work with. "I'm excited about the challenges of splitting time between offense and defense and the many different roles that he'll play on our team and if there's a guy that can do it, I'm excited about seeing him approach that challenge." Packers Lose Vote for Eagles' 'Tush Push' Play to be Banned in 2025

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The NFL owners have voted on multiple league-changing matters before the start of the 2025 season. Such as, altering the onside kick, and allowing NFL players to participate in the upcoming 2026 Olympics for Flag Football. Now, they have gathered to vote on the famous "Tush Push" play that has been perfected by the Philadelphia Eagles. The play is essentially a quarterback sneak, but the entire team pushes the ball carrier to either gain a first down, or for a touchdown. Though the play has never resulted in injury, the Green Bay Packers made it a point to propose that the play be banned. The owners of the league have now voted on the matter, and the vote did not pass that would prevent the Eagles from using their signature play in the 2025 season. BREAKING: The proposed ban on the tush-push did NOT receive enough votes from NFL owners, per multiple reports. The play is staying in the game. — Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) May 21, 2025 The Eagles can remain using the "Tush Push" play through the 2025 season. Whether it is on purpose or not, the leaks are doing a good job of drumming up excitement for the NFL season and even the full schedule release. Here are the top 10 leaks for the NFL schedule so far. 1. Week 1 Primetime Schedule The primetime games of Week 1 will likely be among the most-watched games given the excitement surrounding the start of the season. That means the NFL will want them to be great games so fans are excited for the rest of the season. A leak from NFL insider Ari Meirov indicates that there will be four primetime games in Week 1. The Cowboys will face the Eagles in Philadelphia to open the season on Thursday night, continuing the tradition of the NFL champion playing in the first game of the season. The Chiefs will face the Chargers on Friday night in Brazil, yet another interesting divisional matchup. The two teams also faced off in Week 1 two years ago in what was a classic game, albeit surprisingly low scoring. Fans will be hoping for a higher-scoring game this time around. Tom Brady's Team Faces Patriots Week 1 A more recent leak suggests the Las Vegas Raiders will face off against the New England Patriots in what is essentially the Tom Brady Bowl. Reportedly, Brady won't be at the game at Gillette Stadium due to announcing a different game, but nonetheless, the game should be an interesting one between two young, up-and-coming teams. 7. Commanders vs Dolphins in Spain The Washington Commanders and the Miami Dolphins will play each other in Madrid, Spain in Week 11. This game should be a shootout and serve as an entertaining game, especially with Rookie-of-the-Year Jayden Daniels well into his second year at this point. Steelers vs Vikings in Ireland The Pittsburgh Steelers vs Minnesota Vikings, which could also be viewed as the Aaron Rodgers hypothetical bowl, will be held in Dublin, Ireland on NFL Network in Week 4. No matter who is playing at quarterback for each team, this game will likely be more of a defensive affair. 9. Colts vs Falcons in Germany The Indianapolis Colts and the Atlanta Falcons will face off in Berlin, Germany in Week 10. This will be a matchup of two young quarterbacks, Michael Penix and Anthony Richardson, likely looking to build on potential momentum or overcome struggles they have had so far during the season. 10. All London Games There will be plenty of games in London this year, starting with the Cleveland Browns and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. It will be interesting to see who is starting at quarterback for the Browns in that game. The Jets and Broncos will face each other in London the following week, while the week after, the Jaguars and Rams will face each other. Soccer fans watching an NFL player play offense and defense will surely be a storyline for the Jaguars game. For more on the NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
