Teacher claims trial to sexually assaulting 9-year-old pupil

PETALING JAYA : A primary school teacher in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, pleaded not guilty in the Seremban sessions court today to three charges of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old female pupil last year.
Kosmo reported that Ariffin Nor, 53, made his plea after the charges were read before judge Kamil Nizam.
He was accused of sexually assaulting the girl between 1pm and 1.30pm in the library of a school in Kuala Pilah on Jan 2, 2024.
The charges against him were read separately under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni while Ariffin was represented by lawyer Ramzani Idris.
The court allowed bail of RM15,000 with one surety and set re-mention of the case on Aug 18.
