Priyanka Chopra Held Her Own On Set As Her Dad Fought Cancer, Says Co-Star: 'Very Strong Girl'
Last Updated: Arjan Bajwa recalls how Priyanka Chopra supported him on Fashion sets while quietly coping with her father's cancer. Priyanka Chopra has carved out an impressive space for herself globally—balancing Bollywood success, international film roles, and chart-topping music collaborations. But long before becoming a global icon, Priyanka was a pillar of quiet strength on the sets of Fashion. Actor Arjan Bajwa, who played a key role alongside Chopra in the 2008 film, recently revisited those days in a candid chat with Siddharth Kannan. He recalled being at a low point in his life after the sudden death of his father, politician SS Bajwa. His father had tragically fallen from the terrace of their home following an attack by monkeys. The emotional toll made it difficult for Arjan to return to acting—until filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar stepped in. 'He gave me an opportunity when all doors were closed to me, and that's why I will always hold him in the highest regard. I tell him to this day that when I was out of everything, he said to me, 'Come on board,'" Bajwa said. Despite the big break, he admitted that his heart wasn't fully in the shoot. He was going through the movie half-heartedly, he confessed, adding that the team on set was aware of what he was dealing with. However, it was Priyanka Chopra who offered him unexpected comfort, as she too was facing a personal crisis. 'Priyanka and I were sitting and talking while the shot was getting ready, and her father had just been diagnosed with cancer. We were sitting together and discussing our fathers, and she was also going through something very difficult, but she is a very strong girl, and I never saw her vulnerable or breaking down on the set." Despite the emotional weight both actors were carrying, Priyanka Chopra never let her personal struggles affect her professionalism. Arjan Bajwa recalled being inspired by how composed and focused she remained, even in such a difficult time. About Fashion Fashion is a 2008 Bollywood drama directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. The film tells the story of Meghna, a small-town girl who becomes a top model in the fashion industry. Played by Priyanka Chopra, Meghna's journey shows both the glamorous and harsh sides of the modeling world. The film also stars Kangana Ranaut and Arjan Bajwa. First Published:

Mukul Dev's Sudden Death SHOCKED Arjan Bajwa: 'We Were Working On A Script'
Last Updated: In an emotional tribute, Arjan Bajwa reveals that late actor Mukul Dev was working on a script tailored for him before his untimely death. Actor Arjan Bajwa is still reeling from the sudden passing of actor-writer Mukul Dev, a loss he says has left a void that words can't quite fill. Speaking just hours after the news broke on Saturday morning, the 45-year-old shares that the two shared far more than just screen space—they shared a bond forged in trust, creativity, and mutual admiration. 'What I'm feeling can't be put into words," Arjan says softly. 'Mukul and I weren't just colleagues from Son of Sardaar. We knew each other much before that and stayed connected long after. In fact, we were recently talking about a project he was writing specifically for me. The script was ready. It was something special." The duo may have shared limited screen time in their collaborations—including State of Siege: 26/11—but off-camera, their friendship was deeply rooted. 'We would constantly exchange messages, hop on video calls. I have more than 100 minutes of his voice notes—him sharing thoughts, ideas, or just guiding me like an older brother. He always made time," Arjan recalls. One of the most personal threads that connected them was their love for aviation. 'He was a certified pilot, and I fly as a hobby. Every time I left him a voice note, he'd tease me: 'You sound like a PA announcement on a flight. Talk to me nicely, yaar—thoda mazak mein baat kar!' That laughter… it's still ringing in my ears." Despite their closeness, Arjan laments how they never took many photos together. 'When you're genuinely close to someone, you don't think of capturing it. At events you click pictures, but in real life—when you're talking often, meeting regularly—you just live in the moment." It's Mukul's humour that Arjan says he'll miss most. 'He had that unmistakable Punjabi wit. Sometimes the jokes were so crass, you couldn't help but laugh. We'd speak in Punjabi and just crack up. That was our language of friendship." As he speaks, it's clear that Arjan isn't just mourning a collaborator—he's grieving the loss of a kindred spirit, a brother in both art and life. First Published:
