Wicklow motoring fans hit top gear as vintage car show rolls into town
Held in aid of Arklow Community First Responders, the community event was open to vehicles of all makes and years, with the beloved show featuring an amazing selection of vintage and classic cars, including a Ford Escort Mexico and a mint-condition Mini with an equally stunning trailer.
Featuring lots of mouthwatering food from an onsite BBQ, live music, a raffle and plenty of spot prizes, special guest and Wicklow Rose Kerry Byrne added to the atmosphere at the bumper show, which culminated with a prize giving ceremony.
'We had a great day out in the Bridgewater shopping centre, and a big thanks to all who attended and special thanks to Kerry Byrne who presented the prizes,' East Coast Classic and Vintage Club's Paul Clarke said.
'The show went well and there were people here from Wicklow and beyond. We had a vast array of cars, including a beautiful Mini with a little trailer on it, whose owner came from Summer Hill in County Meath and won a prize.
'We sold about 150 burgers, and there was a big raffle with 26 spot prizes, so there was lots going on during the day.
'A big thanks to the East Coast Classic and Vintage Club members. We had a good team of 14 members there today, and everyone got stuck in, from parking cars to making sure everyone was looked after.'
